Engineering Manager SSCS Supply Chain

You will lead a backend engineering team building Software Supply Chain Security Add-On capabilities, including dependency enforcement, build provenance, malicious package detection, and artifact signing. You will align delivery milestones, scope, sequencing, and dependencies with engineering and product partners. You will hire and develop engineers, run regular performance and career conversations, monitor quality metrics, coordinate quarterly planning, and support headcount and team planning.

Responsibilities

• Lead a backend engineering team building Software Supply Chain Security Add-On capabilities.
• Drive engineering delivery for general-availability milestones by aligning sequencing, scope, and dependencies.
• Partner with Talent Acquisition on sourcing, interview design, candidate evaluation, and hiring decisions.
• Run regular one-to-ones, performance reviews, and career development conversations.
• Monitor cycle time, defect rates, and test coverage, and address risks early.
• Coordinate quarterly planning and roadmap trade-off discussions.
• Work with Finance and partners on headcount pacing and team planning.
• Represent the SSCS Add-On team in stage leadership discussions and maintain cross-functional communication.

Requirements

• Over 3 years of experience leading backend product engineering teams in security, DevOps, or platform engineering environments.
• Ability to hire and develop backend or security engineers in distributed team environments.
• Technical credibility in architecture discussions involving package registries, CI/CD pipeline security, and signing infrastructure.
• Experience managing predictable delivery across multi-quarter product roadmaps and cross-team dependencies.
• Ability to work asynchronously in a documentation-driven organization with clear written communication.
• Familiarity with supply chain security, artifact management, compliance-focused product areas, or related domains.
• Working knowledge of SLSA and Sigstore.
• Ability to build credibility with engineers, product partners, and customer-facing stakeholders through coaching and collaboration.
