Your role

We are seeking Enrolled Nurses (Level 1–2) to join our casual nursing pool at St John of God Ballarat Hospital.

This is a great opportunity to gain experience across a range of acute hospital settings, working alongside experienced nursing teams to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care. You will have the opportunity to work across various ward units, with shifts available Monday to Sunday across morning, afternoon and night shifts.

As an Enrolled Nurse, you will play an important role in supporting patients throughout their care journey. Working under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse, you will contribute to the planning, delivery and evaluation of evidence-based nursing care within your scope of practice.

The Position

In this role, you will:

  • Deliver compassionate, patient-centred care that supports patients' physical, emotional and psychological wellbeing.
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living, promoting dignity, independence and self-care.
  • Support patients undergoing treatments and therapeutic procedures within your scope of practice.
  • Monitor and document patients' conditions, promptly reporting any changes to the Registered Nurse.
  • Work collaboratively with Registered Nurses and the wider multidisciplinary team to achieve positive patient outcomes.
  • Contribute to a safe, supportive and professional clinical environment.

What you will bring

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as an Enrolled Nurse.
  • Recent clinical experience in an acute hospital environment.
  • A commitment to delivering safe, high-quality, evidence-based and patient-centred care.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • The ability to recognise changes in patients' conditions, apply sound judgement and seek guidance when required.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and working within your scope of practice.

Above all, you will share our commitment to putting patients at the centre of everything we do and demonstrate a willingness to embrace the Mission and Values of St John of God Health Care.

We can offer you

  • Competitive casual hourly rates: EN Level 1–2, $42.50 - $50.74 per hour, including casual loading, plus 12% superannuation.
  • Flexible casual opportunities to support your availability and work-life balance.
  • Salary packaging options to help maximise your take-home pay.
  • Access to employee wellbeing programs and additional purchased leave options.
  • Employee discounts across St John of God Hospital and Medical Services, as well as private health insurance.
  • Access to our dedicated Employee Assistance Program (EAP), providing free support for you and your immediate family.
