About the Opportunity
Our client is seeking an experienced Enterprise Cyber Security Project Manager to support a major cyber security uplift program within a critical infrastructure environment.
This opportunity will play a key role in delivering a multi-year cyber maturity uplift across technology, people, and processes, supporting compliance obligations under the Security of Critical Infrastructure (SoCI) Act and alignment to the Australian Energy Sector Cyber Security Framework (AESCSF) Security Profile 2 (SP-2). The successful candidate will work closely with senior technology leadership, cyber security teams, project delivery teams, and external technology partners to ensure successful delivery of strategic cyber security initiatives.
Scope of Work
The Enterprise Cyber Security Project Manager will:
- Lead end-to-end delivery of complex cyber security projects within both Operational Technology (OT) and Information Technology (IT) environments.
- Work closely with senior stakeholders, including executive leadership, cyber security teams, technology operations, architecture teams, and delivery partners.
- Develop and manage project plans, schedules, governance frameworks, budgets, forecasts, and resource plans.
- Manage project risks, issues, dependencies, and change activities to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Coordinate internal delivery teams, external vendors, technology partners, and procurement activities.
- Drive delivery of cyber security capability uplift initiatives and support transition of new security capabilities into operational environments.
- Ensure projects are delivered within agreed scope, schedule, budget, quality, and governance requirements.
- Provide project reporting, status updates, and strategic recommendations to executive stakeholders.
- Support prioritisation and sequencing of cyber security investments that strengthen business resilience and protect essential services.
The successful candidate will contribute directly to initiatives designed to improve organisational resilience and protect critical infrastructure assets from cyber threats.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Demonstrated experience delivering cybersecurity projects across Operational Technology (OT) and Information Technology (IT) environments
- Extensive experience in project implementation and management, including project planning, budget management, project schedules, risk management, resource management, vendor management and quality assurance
- Strong project management, governance and reporting capabilities ensuring projects are kept within scope, schedule and budget
- Demonstrated leadership through a collaborative and supportive approach and the ability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders and technical teams
- Strong planning, problem solving, organisational and analytical skills with the ability to remain focussed on outcomes and to adjust delivery mechanisms to meet deadlines and customer needs
- Experience managing project risks, issues and dependencies
- Experience with end-to-end procurement processes and managing vendors
- Baseline security clearance or higher, or the willingness to attain it
Desirable
- Experience working within a Utilities environment
- Knowledge, and application of, cyber security standards and frameworks applied within the energy sector and industrial control systems (AESCSF and IEC62443)
- Experience working within government-owned organisations
- Knowledge and application of NT Government procurement processes
Mandatory Requirements
- Ability to work on-site in Darwin, Northern Territory.
- Australian work rights.
- Baseline Security Clearance or willingness to obtain one.
- Ability to manage projects involving critical infrastructure and cyber security outcomes.
