Position Overview
The Enterprise Systems Administration Manager serves as a key partner in the administration of enterprise systems including but not limited to design, documentation, optimization, configuration, release management / enhancement, and governance of the organization's core business processes.
This role works closely with leaders across Finance, Human Resources, Business Development, Project Delivery, Operations, and Information Technology to understand current-state business processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and design scalable future-state operating models that support organizational growth, operational excellence, and acquisition integration.
The Enterprise Systems Administration Manager acts as a bridge between business stakeholders and technology teams, translating business requirements into system configurations, workflows, governance practices, reporting structures, and automation opportunities across platforms including Workday, Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory, ADP, Microsoft 365, and other enterprise applications. Ordinary system configurations are designed, tested, and deployed by the manager using best practices. This role also works to maintain as well as cultivate relationships with our stable of vendor partners supporting heavy implementation work and/or complex configuration activities.
This position plays a critical role in business process transformation, enterprise systems governance, ERP optimization, organizational scalability, enterprise reporting, data governance, and M&A integration initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Business Process Analysis & Design
- Partner with business leaders to document, analyze, and improve current-state business processes across Finance, Human Resources, Business Development, Project Delivery, and Corporate Operations
- Facilitate business process mapping sessions and develop process documentation, workflows, decision trees, and standard operating procedures
- Design scalable future-state business processes that support organizational growth, operational efficiency, compliance requirements, and acquisition integration activities
- Identify process bottlenecks, inefficiencies, control gaps, and opportunities for automation
- Advise business stakeholders on process design best practices and operational governance frameworks
- Collaborate with leadership teams to align enterprise processes with strategic organizational objectives
- Assist in establishing enterprise process standards, governance practices, and process ownership models across business functions
- Conduct requirements gathering sessions and stakeholder interviews to understand operational challenges and future business needs
Enterprise Systems Strategy & Optimization
- Translate approved business process designs into enterprise system requirements, workflows, and configuration recommendations
- Support administration and optimization of enterprise platforms including Workday Financials, Projects, Adaptive Planning, Human Capital Management, ADP, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft 365, and related business applications
- Evaluate how business process changes impact enterprise systems, security models, reporting structures, and operational workflows
- Partner with IT and business leaders to ensure enterprise systems effectively support organizational goals and operational requirements
- Coordinate with implementation and support partners on system enhancements, issue resolution, releases, and configuration updates
- Participate in tenant management, testing coordination, release validation, and user acceptance testing activities
- Maintain system documentation, configuration records, and operational procedures
- Evaluate and prioritize system enhancement requests based on business value and organizational impact
- Assist with organizational change management efforts related to process and technology improvements
Enterprise Governance & Compliance
- Establish and support governance processes for enterprise applications, master data management, security roles, workflow approvals, and reporting standards
- Assist in maintaining enterprise system documentation, process ownership models, and change management procedures
- Participate in enterprise systems governance councils and business process review initiatives
- Help ensure system configurations align with approved business policies, operational controls, and segregation-of-duties requirements
- Support audit, compliance, and internal control activities related to enterprise systems and business processes
M&A Integration & Enterprise Data Management
- Support acquisition integration activities related to enterprise systems, business process alignment, and data migration efforts
- Assist with migration and normalization of financial, project, employee, and operational data from acquired organizations
- Coordinate data validation, reconciliation, testing, and business process alignment activities during integration projects
- Help establish standardized processes and reporting structures across newly integrated business units
Testing, User Support, Training & Change Management
- Establish and support frameworks including but not limited to end-to-end, unit, and regression testing in partnership with third-party implementation partners and support firms including defect tracking and remediation efforts
- Serve as an escalation point for enterprise systems support issues including triage assessment
- Assist with end-user training, documentation, and change management efforts
- Develop training materials and process documentation supporting new systems and process initiatives
- Promote user adoption and effective utilization of enterprise platforms and reporting tools
- Support communication and stakeholder engagement efforts during system and process changes
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in business analysis, enterprise systems analysis, business process improvement, ERP administration, or related operational technology roles
Business Analysis & Process Skills
- Experience documenting, analyzing, and redesigning business processes across multiple business functions considerate of multiple enterprise platforms
- Strong experience with business process mapping, workflow analysis, and future-state process design using tools including Microsoft Visio
- Experience translating business requirements into functional & technical system requirements
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate the organizational impacts of process and system changes across multiple business functions
- Experience serving as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams
- Understanding of enterprise reporting, operational workflows, and business systems architecture
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with practical execution and day-to-day operational support
Technical & Operational Skills
- Systems administration experience supporting Workday FINS including light configuration / enhancement work
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Familiarity with enterprise data governance and master data management concepts
- Understanding of identity management, security role design, workflow automation, and enterprise application governance
- Ability to coordinate effectively across technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Strong organizational, documentation, and project coordination skills
Interpersonal Skills
- Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management abilities
- Ability to influence and guide discussions across multiple departments and leadership levels

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SAP, Oracle, UKG, or similar enterprise platforms
- Experience supporting professional services, consulting, project-based, or multi-entity organizations
- Experience supporting ERP implementations, business process redesign, organizational transformation initiatives, or enterprise systems integrations
- Experience supporting acquisition integrations or large-scale organizational change initiatives
- Experience facilitating requirements gathering workshops and stakeholder interviews
- Experience using testing and defect management tools such as OpenText ALM, TestRail, or similar tools
- Experience with reporting and analytics platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools

This role's target base annual salary range is currently $150,000-$180,000. Pay scales are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors unique to each candidate, including, but not limited to, job-related skills, relevant education, experience, certifications, candidate abilities, and pay relative to other team members.
