We are looking for an Environmental Manager to join our ESG team and take ownership of SoftwareOne’s global carbon accounting, environmental reporting, and climate strategy agenda. In this role, you will lead our Greenhouse Gas (GHG) inventory and climate disclosures, ensure compliance with CSRD/ESRS requirements, develop science-based emissions reduction targets, and drive the implementation of our decarbonization roadmap. This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who enjoys building processes and capabilities from the ground up, delivering measurable environmental impact, and contributing to overall ESG strategy across a global organization.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare SoftwareOne’s global Scope 1, 2 and 3 GHG inventory, ensuring compliance with CSRD/ESRS requirements and the GHG Protocol
- Own the GHG reporting process, including administration of the emissions data platform, engagement with data owners, audit readiness, and continuous process improvements
- Develop science-based emissions reduction targets, provide guidance on key climate metrics and timelines, and support validation through the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)
- Lead the development and execution of decarbonization roadmaps, partnering with regional and local teams to achieve emissions reduction objectives
- Deliver key climate-related disclosures, including annual report content, CDP submissions, environmental policies, and responses to customer sustainability requests
- Support cross-functional environmental initiatives across areas such as GreenOps, cloud sustainability, and sustainable device management/sustainable IT
- Update our environmental policy and ensure it reflects our current practices and priorities.
- Ensure alignment with SoftwareOne’s global ESG programme while identifying opportunities to strengthen environmental performance, reporting, and strategy year over year
Responsibilities may also include the following related to the EU Taxonomy Regulation:
- Lead SoftwareOne’s EU Taxonomy disclosures, including eligibility and alignment assessments, data collection, and KPI reporting
- Drive process improvements to embed EU Taxonomy requirements into financial reporting and related systems
- Ensure high-quality, audit-ready Taxonomy reporting, including narrative disclosures and supporting documentation
Job Requirements
- Several years of direct experience in climate accounting, with responsibility for analysis and assessments:
- Knowledge of the GHG Protocol, the Science-based Targets initiative and CSRD/ESRS as it applies to the topical standard E1 Climate change
- Desirable: Hands-on experience driving compliance with the EU Taxonomy Regulation (including the simplifications)
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant discipline, such as environmental sciences, finance or engineering
- Familiarity with sustainability assurance procedures and comfort engaging with auditors
- Analytical and solution-oriented, with the ability to simplify complex topics and turn insights into action
- Excellent communicator and collaborator, able to engage stakeholders across the business and build strong working relationships
- Self-driven and adaptable, with strong organizational skills, the ability to work independently, and confidence navigating ambiguity and change
