EP+ Project Controls Manager

The Project Controls Manager will be responsible for
Cost Management: Oversee budget development, cost tracking, variance analysis forecasting, and Earned Value Management (EVM) reporting.
Change Management: Evaluate change orders, assess the impact of scope changes on cost and time, and maintain change logs to protect the company from financial exposure.
Risk Management: Facilitate risk identification, quantify potential impacts, develop mitigation strategies, and manage contingency funds.
Executive Reporting: Generate detailed performance dashboards and reports to update internal stakeholders, executives, and clients on project health.
Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and train junior staff, including Project Coordinators and Cost Engineers.. The Project Controls Manager supports the execution teams through risk analysis, supports financially and operationally, and builds risk management capabilities while driving change.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Methodology Implementation: Ensure consistent application of project management methodologies across your assigned projects.
  • Planning and Scheduling: Oversee the development and maintenance of detailed project schedules, resource allocation, and critical path analysis for your projects.
  • Cost Management: Establish and monitor project budgets, track expenditures, identify cost-saving opportunities, and manage cost variances for assigned projects.Advises execution Project Managers on complex contracts.
  • Earned Value Management (EVM): Implement and utilize EVM principles to accurately measure project performance and progress.
  • Reporting: Prepare and deliver regular, comprehensive project status reports, including key performance indicators (KPIs) and variance analysis, to project stakeholders and senior leadership.
  • Change Management: Manage changes to project scope, schedule, or budget, ensuring they are effectively documented, approved, and implemented.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement in project controls processes and tools within your area of responsibility.

Hard Skills:

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
  • PMP certification or equivalent preferred.
  • 8+ of progressive experience in project controls or project management,

Required:

  • Must have +8 years of experience in the NORAM Region with a strong understanding and experience of Project Controls in a Construction environment
  • Fluency in English language (French is a plus) and the ability to draft and negotiate in them
  • Experience working with Design-Build (EP, or EPC) contractors and contracts

Preferred:

  • General understanding of water treatment technologies and customer industries and operations.

  • Compensation: The compensation range is tied to the market for similarly bench-marked roles. The range is not an absolute, but a guide, and offers will be based on the individual candidate’s knowledge, skills, experience and market conditions, as well as internal peer equity. Depending upon all the preceding considerations for the final selected individual candidate, the offer may be lower or higher than the stated range: $100,000 - 103,000 CAD or $100,000 - 113,000 USD
