Position Details & Requirements
As an Equipment Support II, you will play an important role in providing excellent customer service while keeping the branch yard organized, safe, and ready for business. You will help manage the flow of equipment in and out of the yard, prepare equipment for delivery, assist customers and drivers with loading and unloading, fuel equipment, and support technicians and other branch team members with a variety of hands-on tasks.
What You'll Do
- Greet and assist customers with their needs in the yard
- Prepare and stage equipment for deliveries
- Maintain the flow of equipment in and out of the yard
- Load and unload equipment for customers and assist drivers
- Hook up trailers and other towables to customer vehicles and ensure loads and trailers are properly secured
- Communicate with the front office and shop using a two-way radio
- Instruct customers on the proper and safe use of equipment and demonstrate equipment operation
- Review rental contracts to ensure the correct equipment is delivered
- Complete customer equipment pickup and return receipts
- Notify the Branch Manager or designee of damaged equipment
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe yard and work area
- Fuel equipment
- Check service and perform minor repairs on some small equipment
- Regularly inventory equipment and accessories
- Assist technicians, drivers, and other branch personnel with labor-based tasks
- Deliver and pick up branch supplies as needed
- Deliver and pick up equipment from job sites as needed, including equipment exchanges
- Fill propane cylinders upon request
- Follow all safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements
- May be scheduled for extended hours and/or on-call or standby rotations
- Perform other duties as assigned
What We're Looking For
- Previous customer service experience within the construction industry or a related field is preferred
- Knowledge or experience with construction rental equipment is a plus
- Strong customer service and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and active listening skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Attention to detail and ability to complete tasks accurately
- Ability to receive coaching and follow direction effectively
- Ability to work under moderate supervision
- Ability to read, write, and speak English; bilingual skills are a plus
- Safety-focused mindset and commitment to following all safety policies and procedures
- Self-motivated, dependable, and willing to learn
- Team-oriented and willing to assist coworkers
- Comfortable working outdoors and around heavy equipment
- Full range of motion, agility, and strength to climb in and out of large vehicles, trailers, and equipment
- Ability to normally lift 25 lbs., frequently lift 50 lbs., and occasionally lift up to 90 lbs. with mechanical or lift assistance
- Must be at least 18 years of age to operate a Company vehicle
- Must possess a valid, unrestricted driver's license and maintain a driving record that meets Company eligibility standards
- A DOT medical card is not required at the time of hire but may be required after employment begins depending on assigned duties
- Must maintain regular and predictable attendance
- Must maintain a professional appearance
- Additional background checks and drug and alcohol testing may be required for access to restricted job sites

Working Environment
This is a physically demanding, hands-on position that is primarily performed outdoors. Employees may be exposed to varying weather conditions, and some work areas may not be heated or air conditioned.
The position requires frequent walking, standing, lifting, stooping, crouching, bending, reaching, twisting, pulling, pushing, carting, and transporting objects of various weights and dimensions.
Employees will work around large industrial equipment and may be exposed to materials including gasoline, diesel fuel, propane, and cleaning solvents. Appropriate personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, gloves, safety footwear, and fall protection when required, must be worn.
