An established organisation is seeking a Senior ETL Developer & Database Administrator (DBA) to join its IT team. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced data professional who enjoys working across the full data lifecycle, from developing and maintaining ETL processes to ensuring the performance, security, and availability of critical SQL databases. You will play a key role in delivering business intelligence solutions, improving data quality, and supporting reporting and analytics initiatives across the business. Working closely with stakeholders, analysts, and development teams, you'll be instrumental in transforming business requirements into scalable and reliable data solutions. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL processes and data pipelines Translate business requirements into effective data integration solutions Optimise ETL workflows for performance, reliability, and scalability Support migration initiatives to new ETL platforms and technologies Manage and maintain SQL Server databases to ensure high availability and performance Perform database backups, recovery procedures, maintenance, patching, and upgrades Implement database security, permissions, and audit controls Optimise SQL queries and database structures Ensure data quality through validation, cleansing, and transformation best practices Collaborate with analysts, developers, and business stakeholders to support reporting and analytics requirements Maintain comprehensive documentation of data processes, architecture, and dependencies Job Experience and Skills Required Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer would be advantageous 7+ years of ETL development experience Experience with ETL tools such as Qlik, Airbyte, Talend, SSIS, Data Stage, or similar platforms 4+ years of SQL Server Database Administration experience Advanced SQL skills, including stored procedures, functions, query optimisation, and performance tuning Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and dimensional modelling Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments Familiarity with Git and CI/CD practices Experience with ETL platform migrations Excellent communication and documentation skills Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
