Swaniti Initiative is a policy research and implementation
organization working at the intersection of governance, energy transition, and
sustainable development. The organization partners with government
stakeholders, state-owned enterprises (SOEs), and development partners to
support evidence-based policymaking and on-ground implementation, with a focus
on India’s transition towards a more sustainable and inclusive energy future.
We are looking for an EV Sector Expert
with strong technical grounding and hands-on industry experience in electric
mobility sector. The role will focus on providing domain expertise across
electric vehicles, charging infrastructure, battery technologies, and EV
ecosystem development, with a strong interface between engineering, policy, and
implementation.
Requirements
- Provide technical and strategic
inputs to subnational governments across the global south (with a focus on
India and Indonesia) on EV technologies, including vehicles, batteries, power
electronics, and charging infrastructure.
- Support design and implementation
of EV adoption programs, pilots, and scale-up initiatives from a government
lens (with much exposure to functioning in the private sector)
- Develop concept notes, technical
frameworks, and advisory inputs for government and industry stakeholders with
the intention of looking at pathways to scale out key initiatives like fleet
transition etc.
- Evaluate EV-related projects,
proposals, and policies from a technical and feasibility perspective as well as
how evaluate financial prospects.
- Engage with OEMs, charging
infrastructure providers, utilities, and technology partners.
- Track emerging trends in EV
technology, battery chemistry, grid integration, and global best practices.
- Support capacity-building
initiatives, workshops, and knowledge products related to EV and clean
mobility.
- Provide technical guidance to
internal teams on EV sector developments and project execution.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Master’s degree in Engineering
(Electrical / Mechanical / Automotive / Energy or related field), Environmental
sciences, Transport Sciences or any related industries.
- 8–10 years of relevant experience
in the EV sector, electric mobility, automotive electrification, batteries,
charging infrastructure, or related clean mobility domains.
- Strong understanding of:
○ EV powertrains and vehicle
architectures
○ Battery technologies (Li-ion, BMS,
safety, lifecycle)
○ Charging standards and
infrastructure (AC/DC, fast charging, interoperability)
○ EV ecosystem and supply chains
- Experience working with public
sector, policy programs, or large-scale mobility initiatives is a plus.
