Event & Experiences Designer
Secure Every Identity, from AI to Human
Identity is the key to unlocking the potential of AI. Okta secures AI by building the trusted, neutral infrastructure that enables organizations to safely embrace this new era. This work requires a relentless drive to solve complex challenges with real-world stakes. We are looking for builders and owners who operate with speed and urgency and execute with excellence.
This is an opportunity to do career-defining work. We're all in on this mission. If you are too, let's talk.
About the team
As the leading independent identity provider for the enterprise, Okta is on a mission to build a world-class brand. Driving that mission is the Brand & Creative team: a dynamic group of art directors, designers, writers, strategists, project managers, and producers who bring the Okta brand to life across every touchpoint.
Within Brand & Creative, the Brand Events & Experiences Creative team is building a comprehensive experiential design system to scale across physical and digital environments globally. We are looking for a dedicated Events and Experiences Designer to bring this system to life, translating complex identity and security concepts into high-impact, physical environments and branded spaces.
About the role
As an Events & Experiences Designer, you will be a vital, hands-on creative maker driving Okta’s physical presence across our global event calendar. You will partner closely with art directors, creative leads, and event marketing partners to concept, build, and produce work across our flagship owned moments (such as Oktane and Showcase) as well as our high-velocity third-party and field activations (including AWS re:Invent, RSA Conference, Gartner Symposiums, and Executive Briefing summits).
This role is built for a craft-obsessed practitioner who thrives in the full arc of event creative—from spatial ideation and environmental typography to the rigorous, meticulous prepress work required to ship flawless, fabrication-ready files on tight deadlines.
What you'll be doing
- Concept & Spatial Execution: Translate creative briefs into compelling physical and environmental activations—designing large-format booth graphics, spatial layouts, entrance structures, dimensional signage, and interactive demo zones.
- End-to-End Production Ownership: Take full ownership of production deliverables. Prepare flawless, press-ready, and fabrication-ready art files tailored to precise vendor specifications, architectural scale, and material substrates.
- Scale the Experiential System: Actively implement and evolve Okta’s experiential design system and modular "kit of parts," ensuring consistency, premium craft, and brand recognition across all event tiers.
- Multi-Track Project Management: Autonomously drive several concurrent projects across different stages of the event lifecycle (e.g., concepting one activation, producing another, and prepping print proofs for a third) with high accuracy and composure.
- Cross-Functional & Vendor Partnership: Collaborate directly with Event Marketing, Field Marketing, and external fabrication partners (printers, booth builders, and staging agencies) to ensure design intent translates seamlessly into built environments.
- Brand Quality Assurance: Conduct prepress proof reviews, oversee physical print approvals, and safeguard creative excellence across all physical touchpoints.
What you'll bring to the role
- Demonstrated Experience: 4+ years of dedicated professional experience in experiential design, spatial/environmental graphic design, or event production within an in-house creative team or top-tier branding/experiential agency.
- Deep Production Fluency (Required): Proven, hands-on expertise preparing large-format print and environmental graphics for physical builds (tension fabric/SEG, hardwall structures, vinyl wraps, dimensional lettering, and acrylics). You understand bleeds, resolutions at architectural scale, color management (CMYK, Pantone matching), and vendor handoff specs.
- High-Craft Portfolio: A portfolio showcasing shipped, physical event environments and environmental graphics that demonstrate elevated typography, spatial hierarchy, and production fidelity (photographs of built environments and technical specs preferred alongside 2D/3D visualizations).
- Tool Mastery: Expert-level fluency with Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
- Autonomy & Technical Problem Solving: Demonstrated track record of managing overlapping timelines, navigating ambiguous project requirements, and proactively resolving real-world fabrication challenges.
- Collaborative Conviction: Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate design rationale, incorporate stakeholder feedback thoughtfully, and maintain high standards of visual excellence.
Extra points if you have
- Working knowledge of 3D spatial software or spatial visualization tools (SketchUp, Cinema 4D, Blender, or Vectorworks).
- Experience localizing creative for international regional series (EMEA and APJ markets).
- Direct experience communicating with fabrication shops and conducting on-site print/install inspections.
