Event Staff Lead - NY
Ensures excellent customer service from front-of-house staff
Provides an excellent patron and performer experience at all performances.
Maintains the appearance of the lobby and all public areas; communicates with the Venue Manager as necessary to ensure the safety of the venue, staff, and patrons.
Is the point of contact to resolve any conflicts at the moment with any patron, ticketing, or performer issues and defers to the Venue Manager for additional assistance
Monitors supplies for the e14th Street Campus, promptly alerting the Venue Manager when items are low.
Completes and distributes Performer Check-in documents and Student Standby Procedures.
Provides leadership in emergencies, including fire alarms and inclement weather warnings.
Works closely with management to ensure proper staff is in place for all performances and can fill in gaps on the schedule when needed.
Works to ensure all house management needs are met and daily action items from the Venue Manager, Artistic Directors, HR, and UCB Director Staff are completed
Role & Responsibilities
- Responsible for starting the show and facilitating communication with the show producer/director and tech.
- Providing clear communication for staff on details/things to know for the night ahead or quick change over
- Managing and coordinating the stations of the event staff throughout the night.
- Overseeing and assisting in the opening and closing cleaning checklist.
- Overseeing, tracking, and submitting check-in number, making sure staff have input that information on the check in platform
- Overseeing the customer experience and flag if adjustments are needed with staff and tech
- Overseeing the general safety of the space and facility maintenance
Qualification
Computer skills: emailing, reporting, Google Calendar, Google Sheets and Eventbrite administration
Experience running a live theatre sound board & light board a plus.
Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including days, afternoons, and weekends.
Skill in guest relations, phone etiquette, filing, multi-task environment, and attention to detail
Ability to communicate, work well with others, and work in a high-volume, public-facing, and sometimes stressful environment.
Ability to maintain proper etiquette around high-profile performers and guests.
Must be TIPS certified to appropriately manage beer and wine served at the venue.
Compensation
$20 per hour
