Executive - Finance

Job responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly financial statements and ensure timely completion of bank reconciliations and profit and loss finalization.

  • Verify revenue and cost accuracy for jobs, post correct journal entries, and report any job losses to management.

  • Perform reconciliations for commissions, receivables, and payables, ensuring timely settlements and addressing mismatches promptly.

  • Prepare, reconcile, and report Principal & Agency statements of accounts, resolve discrepancies, and maintain accurate financial records in compliance with company standards.

  • Manage tax compliance including GST and BPT calculations, submissions, and payments within statutory deadlines.

  • Facilitate audits by coordinating with auditors, providing required documentation, and maintaining electronic records for easy retrieval.

  • Forecast and plan payments to principals and vendors, ensuring effective management of cash flow to meet operational and financial obligations.

  • Guide and monitor the cashiering functions, ensuring adherence to company policies, accuracy in cash handling, and timely reporting of transactions.

Requirements

  • A Degree in Finance or Accounting, AAT Intermediate, partially completed CA or ACA, or an equivalent qualification.

  • Minimum of two years’ experience in the Accounting or Finance field; experience in the shipping and logistics industry will be an added advantage.

  • Strong knowledge of Maldives tax laws and financial regulations.

  • Proficiency in computer applications and financial systems.

  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
