Position Overview
The Experienced Software Developer will join QTREX's R&D software team and take an active role in the development and evolution of the software platforms powering our advanced manufacturing systems.
This is a hands-on development position involving a large, mature software codebase that has evolved over more than a decade. The system is primarily written in C++, together with a significant C# and Python codebases, and integrates closely with complex hardware, manufacturing processes, algorithms, and system-level functionality.
Developers are expected to make effective use of modern AI development tools for code understanding, implementation, debugging, refactoring, testing, documentation, and productivity improvement.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and enhance software for QTREX's advanced manufacturing platforms.
- Design and implement new features while maintaining compatibility with existing system architecture and functionality.
- Analyze, understand, debug, and improve complex legacy and production code.
- Perform code reviews and contribute to software architecture and design decisions.
- Support and work closely with multidisciplinary teams including Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, System Engineering, Manufacturing, and other R&D disciplines.
- Use modern AI-assisted development tools as part of the day-to-day development workflow for code analysis, implementation, debugging, testing, refactoring, and documentation.
- Continuously evaluate new development technologies and tools that can improve software quality and engineering productivity.
Requirements
- B.Sc. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 5+ years of professional software development experience.
- Practical experience using AI coding and software-development tools as part of a professional development workflow.
- Strong hands-on experience developing production software in C++.
- Experience with Python and with developing or maintaining Python applications.
- Proven ability to understand, debug, and modify large existing codebases.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary R&D teams.
