Job Title: Extruder Assistant

Location: Hayesville, NC

Are you ready to power your career with an industry leader? At Advanced Digital Cable, we don't just keep up with the competition; we set the standard. As a premier U.S. manufacturer of wire and cable, we produce the critical infrastructure that powers communication and connectivity while investing in the industry's most advanced manufacturing technology and equipment. Proudly manufacturing 100% of our products across four state-of-the-art U.S. facilities, we're committed to quality, innovation, and growth, creating opportunities for our employees to develop new skills, advance their careers, and build a future with us.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Extruder Assistant to join our manufacturing team. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for someone looking to start a career in manufacturing while developing valuable technical skills in a hands-on production environment. Extrusion is the process of shaping material by forcing it through a machine to create a continuous shape—in our case, the protective "jacket" or coating that goes around wires and cables. As an Extruder Assistant, you will support the Lead Operator in running a high-speed production line that transforms raw materials into finished industrial cables.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assemble: Twist and cable primary conductors together using specialized industrial equipment.
  • Verify: Act as your own "Quality Inspector" by measuring diameters and gauges with calipers.
  • Document: Keep perfect records of your work to ensure every reel meets our high standards.
  • Lead: Maintain your workspace and ensure products are wrapped and ready for the next stage of production.
  • Safety: Follow proper safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout and the use of PPE.

Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while meeting strict productivity standards. You should be comfortable adapting to changing production needs while keeping a clean, organized workspace.
  • A track record of consistent attendance and punctuality. We value team members who take full ownership of their actions and follow all safety and operational procedures.
  • Ability to follow complex directions, seek clarification when needed, and maintain legible, accurate production records (Labels & Travelers).
  • Responsive to management direction and willing to take full responsibility for personal actions and performance.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, machinery, and varying temperatures.

Shift Opportunities:

  • During Training - First Shift: 7:00am - 3:00pm, Mon-Fri
  • After Training - Second Shift: 3:00pm - 11:00pm, Mon-Fri (+ $2.50)

Compensation & Benefits:

The starting pay for this position is $20.00 per hour ($22.50 for after training). Employees are eligible for wage increases through a structured, tiered pay progression based on demonstrated proficiency, skill development, and successful completion of designated training and job responsibilities.

In addition to competitive compensation, ADC offers a comprehensive total rewards package designed to support your health, financial well-being, and professional growth, including:

  • 100% Company-Paid Employee Health Insurance
