Performs semiconductor failure analysis using tools like SEM/EDX and X-ray, conducts electrical tests, and documents findings to determine root causes of defects.

Failure Analysis Laboratory Technician

  • Performs failure analysis on customer returns, production's maverick lots or non-conforming products until failure mechanism determination.
    • Provide technical support/services to both internal and external customers; like X-ray, SAT, SEM/EDX, macro and micro inspection, and micro-sectioning, as well as other tools deemed necessary for analysis.
    • Performs 1st level electrical test characterization; like current-voltage (I-V) curve test revealing continuity / resistance / leakage parameters and basic electrical bench testing.
    • Assists engineer in laboratory capabilities/development improvement activities.
    • Publish failure analysis report.
    • Conducts periodic housekeeping in the area.
  • Education / Experience
    • Graduate of a Technical (preferably Electronics) / Engineering course
    • Prefer at least 2 yrs experience in semiconductor manufacturing process
  • Skills
    • Possess analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Prefers Hands-on experience in SEM/EDX, SAT, X-ray, and other failure analysis equipment
    • Knowledgeable in basic electrical bench test equipment (such as multimeter, power supply, source meter unit – SMU, Curve tracer)
    • Has good communication skills
    • Computer knowledge
