About the Role
We are looking for a Field Engineer Technician to join our Operations team on our project in LaGrange, GA. This is a full-time position.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate total stations, automatic levels, and other surveying equipment to support construction layout.
- Establish and maintain vertical and horizontal project control.
- Perform construction layout by setting stakes, marking lines, elevations, grades, and reference points.
- Provide and verify accurate layout to conform with contract drawings and project specifications, including foundations, anchor bolts, embeds, slabs, walls, and other critical items.
Qualifications
Required:
- Must have previous construction layout experience.
- Experience operating total stations, automatic levels.
- Working knowledge of common field tools, including tape measures, hammers, torpedo levels, stick rulers, framing squares, and 2-foot or 4-foot levels.
- Working knowledge of construction layout principles, surveying calculations, and field measurements.
- Ability to calculate concrete quantities for footings, elevated slabs, round columns, and similar work.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Ability to convert inches to decimal feet and decimal feet to inches accurately.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work safely in an active construction environment.
- Ability to write clean and legible survey notes.
- Basic math skills including algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
- Must have reliable means of transportation.
- Punctuality and promptness are required every day.
- Demonstrates reliability and strong work ethic.
- Must be able to work overtime and weekend hours
