Field Service Engineer

Duties & Responsibilities

●Guide partner teams through OLS on-site deployment and follow-up maintenance services, covering construction planning, site surveys, equipment racking, module self-testing, system commissioning, service activation & acceptance, 7×24 remote technical support, 5×8 on-site support, software upgrades, and RMA return processing.

1. Supervise partner recruitment and skill training to secure sufficient manpower and rigorous on-site operational discipline for on-time delivery of multiple global customer projects. Establish standardized operating procedures to mitigate adverse impacts on optical networks caused by misoperation during maintenance and troubleshooting.

2. Apply for spare parts timely based on project activation progress and allocate inventory to sites to ensure 7×24×4 spare parts support across all global locations; track and analyze spare parts consumption and stock levels.

3. Serve as liaison between partner organizations and the OLS manufacturing plant to align delivery schedules. Escalate field quality defects of OLS modules and submit improvement proposals for product design optimization in a timely manner.

4. Manage logistics for on-site installation and maintenance, including coordinating test instrument allocation, procuring auxiliary accessories, and promptly communicating & resolving unforeseen on-site incidents.

5. Draft, sign and renew service fee contracts with partners; calculate monthly service fees and coordinate on time payment.

6. Possess in-depth knowledge of Open Line card System (OLS) networking architectures deployed by internet hyperscalers.

7. Develop and maintain a product version configuration manual

8. As a customer interface for network management controllers

Qualification & Requirements

●Bachelor’s degree or above, majoring in Communication Engineering, Optoelectronics, Computer Science or other relevant disciplines.

1. Minimum 5 years of field service experience in the optical communications industry, with at least 2 years of hands-on experience in Open Line card Systems, disaggregated WDM, or data center networking.

2. Familiar with the technical culture and procurement frameworks of internet hyperscalers, with a clear understanding of their core demands centered on disaggregation, white-box hardware, automation, and programmability.

3. Exceptional cross-functional influence and execution capability to build efficient communication channels bridging partners, product lines, supply chain teams, and end customers.
