Field Service Engineer I/II
The FSE I/II performs Calibrations/Qualifications and some repairs on small laboratory instrumentation, including pipettes, balances, timers and thermometers.
- Perform calibration, preventative maintenance and repair both in the field and in the lab of various types of laboratory equipment including pipettes, balances, centrifuges and thermometers.
- Travel to customer sites to perform calibrations and PM’s as necessary.
- Manage personal parts inventory effectively.
- Provide feedback to Manager regarding any issue impacting service delivery, particularly issues impacting turnaround times.
- Complete administrative paperwork and reports promptly and accurately.
- Follow good documentation practices (GDP) as applicable to daily activities.
- Contact customers on time and schedule service efficiently.
- Adhere to environmental health and safety guidelines.
- Effectively communicate with clients and other internal and external parties.
- Follow Eurofins work policies and all applicable SOPs. Ensure that training on both remains current.
- Maintain client confidentiality, specifically if information about the customer is obtained from sources other than the customer (e.g. complainant, assessors).
- Act impartially within the management system.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by Management.
- Two-year degree in a related science field (e.g., chemistry, analytical chemistry, electronic engineering, biotechnology, or similar) plus 0-1 years (FSE I) or 1-3 years (FSE II) experience in a related field, preferably as a Field Service Technician
- Experience in providing calibrations on pipettes and/or balances (FSE II).
- Physical ability to lift and transport equipment and perform tasks in various lab environments
- Clear, respectful, and timely verbal and written communication
- Experience with technical troubleshooting and problem solving
- Must be self-motivated and proactive
- Valid driver’s license
- Clean driving record
- Ability to travel within customer territory to 1-2 days per week Monday-Friday. Overnight travel as needed.
Position is full-time, Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of St. Louis, MO are encouraged to apply.
The pay range of this position is $27/h - $34/h depending on related experience and qualification.
