Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Field Service & Maintenance:
      • Travel up to 75% to remote ESS installations to deliver expert-level field repairs, comprehensive maintenance, and advanced system troubleshooting of battery storage equipment, including electrical, mechanical, power electronics, and control systems.
      • Execute routine and preventative maintenance, inspections, and commissioning of battery storage systems.
      • Respond to service requests, complete work orders, and maintain detailed documentation of activities..
    • Project & Contractor Oversight:
      • Manage on-site field projects and coordinate with contractors/third-party vendors.
      • Develop and refine standard work instructions (SWIs) for field service tasks.
    • Safety & Continuous Improvement:
      • Identify and mitigate safety hazards, particularly in high-voltage battery environments.
      • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, engineering, and EHS teams to implement process improvements.
      • Operate specialized tools and diagnostic equipment safely and effectively.
    • General Support:
      • Complete daily task lists and support scaling of ESS deployments.
      • Thrive in dynamic outdoor and variable-temperature field conditions.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • Strong electro-mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills with preference for battery storage / ESS systems.
  • Solid background in electrical systems (high/low voltage), inverters, BMS, and mechanical maintenance.
  • Ability to work independently with a self-motivated, safety-first mindset in remote locations.
  • Proficiency with tools, diagnostic equipment, and field service documentation.
  • Physical ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs., climb, bend, and perform tasks in varied field environments.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Passion for sustainability and advancing the energy transition.

The position is full-time. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
