Finance Analyst
Job Overview:
The Finance Analyst is responsible for managing day to day finance and accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards and local statutory requirements and the integrity of financial records.
The role supports forecasting, financial analysis, balance sheet reconciliations, cash management, audit coordination, and internal controls, while partnering with business leaders to provide insights that support informed decision making and business performance.
Responsibilities:
Provide financial analysis and decision support to the Area Controller and Country Manager, delivering insights on business performance, financial risks, opportunities and key operational drivers to support decision making.
Coordinate and prepare year-end financial statements, serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors to ensure a smooth statutory audit process and timely/ accurate filings.
Monitor key financial controls and compliance with company policies, identify control weaknesses and communicate improvement opportunities, and support the implementation of corrective actions to strengthen the control environment.
Perform detailed reviews of balance sheet reconciliation, investigate and track aged or unresolved items and ensure timely closure and maintenance of balance sheet accuracy and integrity.
Perform financial analysis of actual results versus forecast, identify trends and variances and recommend improvement actions to support achievement of business and financial objectives.
Review and authorize monthly payroll processing, ensuring all employee payments are accurate and that statutory deductions, taxes, and regulatory obligations are calculated, reported, and remitted within prescribed deadlines.
Review and approve payments, ensuring all bank transactions are properly authorized, supported and processed in compliance with company policies, banking agreements and internal control requirements.
Ensure effective cash management and the preparation of accurate cash flow forecasts to support operational and business needs.
- Know and understand Weatherford Quality Policy and comply with all requirements of Quality Systems Manual, Operating and Technical Procedures and Workplace Instructions.
- Provide support, guidance, and education to Country Support Leads/Operations managers
- Any other finance functions as and when required.
Qualifications & Experience Required:
- A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration or related qualification from college or university.
- At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role in a multinational environment and Oil & Gas or Mining Industry.
- Previous US GAAP reporting experience is advantageous.
- Good IT knowledge and skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to motivate subordinates and team.
- Ability to relate to and work with operations and management.
- Exercise initiative to improve accounting routines and financial reporting.
- English and Portuguese language proficiency (verbal and written).
