Finance Business Analyst - Oracle Reporting & Data Migration - (Part-Time Contract)

Part-time, approx. 2 days per week | Contract to end of FY, strong potential to extend | Flexible Work Arrangements

About the opportunity

RONIN is partnering with a well-known product manufacturer on a part-time engagement for an experienced Finance Business Analyst with strong Oracle exposure.

The business is part of a global Oracle rollout, and Australia was one of the first regions to go live.

Over time, a large amount of finance work has drifted back into Excel. This engagement is a chance to reset that: review how finance reporting really happens today, map it to what Oracle can and should do, and design a cleaner, simpler future state.

This is a design-focused engagement. You’ll shape what “good” looks like and get everything ready for implementation, which is expected to follow as a later phase.

The role suits a contractor who can fit one or two days a week alongside your other commitments, or a senior BA looking for meaningful part-time work. We’re flexible on how the engagement is structured for the right person.

What you’ll be doing

  • Analysing 100+ Excel spreadsheets and finance reports, and mapping each one to its Oracle equivalent.

  • Assessing whether Oracle functionality is configured and fit for purpose for key outputs such as P&L, monthly cash flow, sales forecasts and actual versus budget reporting.

  • Defining how less standard reports should look and work in Oracle where no clear equivalent exists.

  • Leading a rationalisation effort: identifying reports and processes to retire, consolidate or streamline.

  • Running workshops with the finance team to understand current state and bring them on the journey.

  • Completing gap analysis and documenting requirements, including BRDs and functional specifications.

  • Producing data mapping and migration design artefacts to support the future implementation phase.

About you

  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst on finance systems projects.

  • Hands-on Oracle experience, ideally Oracle Cloud ERP / Fusion Financials (Redwood exposure is a bonus).

  • Strong data mapping and data migration skills, particularly moving from spreadsheets and disparate systems into an ERP.

  • Solid understanding of finance processes and reporting (P&L, cash flow, budgeting, forecasting).

  • Confident workshop facilitator who can work with stakeholders of varying Oracle maturity.

  • The credibility to show a team what’s possible, not just document how things work today.

  • Comfortable working autonomously on a part-time basis and managing your own time.

Why this one

  • Genuine scope to influence: a real “spring clean” of finance reporting.

  • Flexible part-time engagement that can fit around your other work or lifestyle.

  • A design phase today, with implementation expected to follow.
