Finance Internal Control Analyst, APAC & ME
Summary
Analyzes and strengthens financial controls for compliance and risk management across APAC & ME, testing controls, automating processes, and supporting SOX activities using Excel, SAP, and Power BI.
Position Summary
This role is responsible for strengthening the organization’s internal control framework to ensure financial accuracy, compliance, and risk management. The role involves proactively identifying risks, testing controls, enhancing compliance, and improving operational efficiency through process automation and data analytics. It also supports Asian countries & Middle East in aligning operational processes with the Group's policies and governance standards.
Major Responsibilities
- Perform internal control reviews and testing to assess control effectiveness, identify risks, and recommend practical corrective actions.
- Support the execution of SOX compliance activities, including control documentation, testing, remediation tracking, and follow-up.
- Analyze finance data related to sensitive transactions to identify anomalies, unusual trends, and potential control issues.
- Conduct risk-based reviews of financial and operational processes, including balance sheet account reviews where appropriate.
- Coordinate selected aspects of system access management and segregation of duties (SoD) reviews to support effective operational and financial controls
- Support the development, enhancement, and communication of group policies, procedures, and guidance to strengthen governance and compliance.
- Partner with business stakeholders to identify process improvement opportunities and strengthen operational costs.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, CISA, CIA or equivalent will be an advantage.
Experience Requirements
- At least 2–4 years of experience in external audit, risk advisory, internal controls, SOX compliance, or governance functions within a Big 4 firm or multinational organization will be an advantage.
- Solid knowledge of internal control frameworks, with the ability to understand business processes, risks, and control design end-to-end.
Strong analytical capability to identify risks, assess materiality and interdependencies, and translate issues into practical, actionable recommendations
Mobility/Travel
- Travel is not a regular requirement but may be required occasionally to support business and project needs.
Computer Skills
- Strong PC skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel, with proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
Working knowledge of SAP and Power BI is preferred. Experience with similar ERP systems or reporting technologies will be an added advantage
Language
- Fluency in English written and spoken skills
- Able to read, write and speak in Mandarin is an advantage due to exposure to China market
