Finance Manager - Statutory

Discussion

Job Description Summary

This role is the driver of the global statutory reporting framework. The Statutory Reporting & Data Excellence Specialist ensures that the underlying statutory data, processes, and templates are robust, cleaned, and standardized to support an intelligent, automated production environment. This role owns the end-to-end integrity of the process: identifying data quality and integrity gaps, resolving process inconsistencies across legal entities, standardizing inputs and templates, and translating business requirements into specifications that support AI and automation. This is a core delivery role within the Statutory Center of Excellence (CoE), reporting to the CoE Leader. The person in this seat owns the end-to-end health and ongoing evolution of the statutory ecosystem, ensuring consistent, high-quality data inputs and reliable solutions across all phases of the reporting lifecycle.

Job Description

Essencial Responsibilities

  • Conduct foundation readiness assessments by legal entity / country: data quality, chart-of-accounts mapping, trial balance structure, and source-system gaps.
  • Perform hands-on data cleanup and normalization of statutory source data (COA mapping, TB tagging, master data alignment) ahead of automation waves.
  • Document current-state process maps and standard work (feeding Value Stream Mapping) for statutory filing production and Stat-to-GAAP (S2G) reconciliation.
  • Identify, size, and prioritize standardization opportunities using an effort-vs-impact lens, based on guidance provided by the CoE Leader.
  • Partner with in-scope regional statutory teams to gather requirements, validate data readiness, and resolve entity-specific complexities.
  • Translate readiness findings and standardized templates into clear, automation-ready requirements and specification documents for the AI/ML Specialist and Automation Developer roles.
  • Track readiness KPIs (entities assessed, exceptions resolved, templates standardized) and report progress and roadblocks to CoE leadership and the Steering Committee.
  • Support pilot and scale waves of the two core AI solutions — AI-assisted financial statement production and automated S2G adjustments — by ensuring clean, standardized inputs are in place ahead of each wave.

Required Qualifications

  • Should be part of ELEC Statutory reporting teams
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Experience in statutory reporting, controllership, or finance transformation and in ELELC statutory reporting
  • Strong data analysis skills (advanced Excel required; exposure to Power BI, or similar a plus).
  • Strong experience & knowledge in Electrification statutory processes
  • Experience working across multi-country / multi-entity finance operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to document processes and standard work (process mapping / VSM experience preferred).
  • Comfortable working at the boundary between controllership/statutory teams and the technical/automation team — able to translate statutory process knowledge into clear requirements for the AI/RPA specialists to build, without having to write the code themselves.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior exposure to GE Vernova (or comparable) statutory processes, Oracle FCC, or similar consolidation/ERP systems.
  • Working knowledge of RPA or AI concepts sufficient to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Prior coding or scripting experience (e.g., Python, VBA, Power BI/DAX, Alteryx, UiPath, or similar RPA tools) is a plus, along with familiarity with AI agent workflows.
