Financial Analyst

About the Position: Serves as a senior Financial Analyst for US Africa Command (AFRICOM) in the Comptroller Division. Acts as a subject-matter expert overseeing internal and external audits, financial policy development, and financial reconciliations. Partners with branch chiefs and program managers to deliver continuous financial analysis and track command-wide performance metrics.

Research and reconcile transactions to achieve proper recording, payment, and liquidation of financial transactions.

Initiate and coordinate financial and operational audits to address system integrity and verify compliance with standard principles and regulatory requirements.

Advise management officials on financial problems, operational trends, and unfavorable deviations to recommend effective corrective actions.

Analyze and integrate higher headquarters guidance, policy statements, and pertinent financial regulations to design and develop command-level financial and accounting policies.
