We are looking for a Financial Controller to our Group Consolidation Team in Helsinki!

About the Role
As a Financial Controller, you will be an integral part of our Group consolidation team. You will collaborate closely with finance colleagues and other stakeholders in all our operating countries. Our team is responsible for Mehiläinen's annual and interim reports, IFRS accounting principles, and the consolidation system Anaplan. Additionally, we play an important role in ensuring accurate CSRD reporting. Mehiläinen’s international M&A activity is visible in our team’s day-to-day work, and characteristics of a rapidly growing company are visible in our work. The role can be tailored to some extent based on the candidate's competence and background.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare Mehiläinen's financial statements, interim reports and trustworthy monthly financial reporting and analyses together with the team
Monthly group consolidation tasks together with the team
Controlling tasks for IFRS16 lease accounting in Fatman and preparing IFRS16 journal entries
Participate in and develop Mehiläinen’s CSRD reporting capabilities
Participate in Mehiläinen’s internal controls testing
Admin and maintenance tasks in our consolidation tool Anaplan
Participate in development projects
To succeed in this role, we expect you to have the following:
Qualifications & experience:
A relevant higher university degree (e.g., MSc Econ)
A few years of experience in financial accounting, group accounting or background in auditing
Understanding of consolidation systems, accounting systems and finance processes
Understanding of IFRS, or suitable background and interest to adopt certain IFRS standards quickly
Strong excel skills and motivation to develop technical solutions to improve our reporting
Fluent in Finnish and English, we prepare materials in both languages
Interest and capabilities in technical solutions (eg. databases, SQL, PBI) are seen as an advantage
Skills & Attributes:
Ability to work independently while also being a strong team player
Strong sense of ownership and accountability for quality and outcomes
Stress tolerance and adaptability in a dynamic environment
Comfortable working in English with colleagues from other countries
