Who We Are

At Encore Fire Protection, we are proud to be the East Coast's largest full-service fire protection company, serving over 90,000 customers from Maine to Louisiana. Our team of more than 2,700 dedicated employees provides customized fire protection solutions that protect lives and property every day.

Our goal is to deliver a unique experience to those who depend on us to make their lives safer and easier. We are passionate about growing with purpose, driving real innovation, and creating a winning culture built on teamwork, success, and an unwavering commitment to safety.

Our mission? To be the best fire protection company the industry has ever seen.

The Opportunity

Encore is hiring a Fire Alarm Sales Executive to sell fire alarm and life safety solutions to commercial, industrial, and institutional customers. You will win new fire alarm installations, system upgrades, and panel replacements, and you will turn inspection findings and deficiencies into repair and retrofit work that keeps our customers' buildings safe and code-compliant.

This is a consultative, technical sales role. You will meet with building owners, facility managers, property managers, and general contractors, understand what each building needs, and recommend the right fire alarm solution. You will build a strong pipeline, write clear proposals, and work closely with our design, project, and service teams to deliver what you sell.

Key Responsibilities

Prospecting and Pipeline

  • Identify and pursue new fire alarm opportunities, including new construction, system replacements, upgrades, and tenant improvements.
  • Build and manage a healthy sales pipeline through outreach, networking, referrals, and relationships with general contractors, property managers, and facility teams.
  • Grow existing accounts by turning inspection findings, deficiencies, and aging systems into repair and retrofit opportunities.
  • Meet or exceed sales targets and pipeline goals.

Technical Selling and Proposals

  • Visit customer sites to assess existing fire alarm systems, understand customer needs, and define the scope of work.
  • Apply working knowledge of fire alarm systems, including control panels, initiating and notification devices, and system monitoring.
  • Read and interpret plans, specifications, and bid documents to prepare accurate scopes and pricing.
  • Prepare clear, competitive proposals and quotes with sound margins, and present them with confidence.
  • Understand NFPA 72, applicable building and fire codes, and local authority having jurisdiction (AHJ) requirements as they apply to each project.

Customer Relationships

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to customers, helping them understand code requirements, system options, and the value of staying compliant.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts and close deals while protecting customer relationships and company margins.
  • Follow up consistently, keep customers informed, and build long-term relationships that lead to repeat business and referrals.

Internal Partnership and Reporting

  • Work with design, project management, and service teams to hand off sold work with complete scope, accurate pricing, and clear customer expectations.
  • Support smooth project starts and stay engaged with customers through delivery.
  • Keep accurate records of opportunities, quotes, and customer activity in our CRM and provide regular pipeline and forecast updates to leadership.

What You Bring to the Table

  • 5-10 years of experience selling fire alarm, life safety, low-voltage, or similar technical systems to commercial customers.
  • Working knowledge of fire alarm systems and NFPA 72.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and scopes of work.
  • Proven record of prospecting, building pipeline, and closing sales.
  • Strong proposal, pricing, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with customers, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable managing multiple opportunities at once.
  • Comfort using CRM and standard office software.
  • Valid driver's license required; this role includes driving to customer sites and meetings.

What Will Make You Stand Out?

  • NICET certification in Fire Alarm Systems.
  • Existing relationships with general contractors, property managers, facility managers, or AHJs in the market.
  • Experience with multiple fire alarm panel manufacturers and platforms.
  • Background as a fire alarm technician, designer, or estimator before moving into sales.
  • Experience selling service agreements, inspection programs, or recurring revenue work alongside project sales.
