The Role

The Fire Sprinkler Service Technician troubleshoots, repairs and maintains fire sprinkler systems so customer systems stay safe, reliable and code compliant. You will diagnose issues, complete repairs efficiently, support NFPA 25 inspections, and clearly communicate deficiencies and next steps to customers.

What You'll Do (Essential Functions)

• Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair sprinkler systems, including valves, piping, heads, risers, fire pumps and related components.
• Perform service work such as leak repairs, head replacements, valve repairs and minor modifications.
• Respond to service calls promptly, identify root causes and restore systems to proper operation.
• Assist with sprinkler inspections, testing and maintenance in accordance with NFPA 25.
• Identify, document and communicate deficiencies; complete service tickets and reports on an iPad using company workflows.
• Explain system issues and recommended corrective actions to customers on site.
• Coordinate with scheduling, supervisors and sales to keep work moving.
• Follow all safety requirements, including lockout/tagout and hot work procedures.

What You Bring

Required

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3 years of experience in fire sprinkler inspection, testing, service or repair.
• Ohio State Fire Marshal sprinkler inspection certification OR NICET Level II (Water-Based Systems).
• Working knowledge of NFPA 13 and NFPA 25.
• Ability to read system drawings, inspection reports and code requirements.
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools and test equipment.
• Valid driver's license and a driving record that meets Silco's vehicle insurance requirements.

Preferred

• Fire protection or technical training.
• Fire pump and backflow certifications.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to climb ladders, use lifts, and work at various heights.
• Able to lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds as needed.
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and crouching throughout the workday.
• Must have good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for handling small components and tools.
• Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
• Must be able to work in confined spaces or outdoor environments as needed.
• Requires occasional pushing, pulling, and reaching overhead.
• Must be able to wear and properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Capable of driving company vehicles and transporting equipment or materials when needed.
• Ability to remain alert and focused while performing detailed or repetitive tasks.
