Firewall Assurance - Analyst
Summary
Entry-level Firewall Assurance Analyst reviewing firewall policies and rules, analyzing logs via SIEM tools (Splunk, Sentinel), and supporting cloud security tasks across AWS and Azure for enterprise firewalls.
This role is for you if you have the below
Educational qualifications
•Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Information Technology, or a related field.
•Equivalent practical experience, internships, or relevant coursework may be considered.
Work experience
•0–1 year in IT security, network security, or cloud operations roles (including internships or co-op placements).
•Assist in firewall policy reviews, rule audits, and basic configuration assessments for enterprise firewalls (Palo Alto, Checkpoint, Fortinet, Cisco ASA).
•Exposure to any Network Security Policy Management (NSPM) tool (Good to have).
•Support collection and analysis of firewall logs using SIEM tools (Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk).
•Help maintain firewall documentation, change logs, and compliance checklists.
•Participate in cloud security tasks: reviewing security groups, network ACLs, and routing configurations in AWS and Azure.
•Learn fundamentals of cloud networking: VPC/VNet architecture, subnets, network security groups (NSGs), route tables, and basic firewall constructs.
•Contribute to incident triage by identifying suspicious traffic patterns and access anomalies under supervision.
•Assist with basic API integrations and automation scripts for firewall rule management.
•Exposure to Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) tools and identity security solutions (Entra ID/Azure AD).
