The Company…
The company is a well-established Australian-owned and operated business that possesses a large inventory of small to large-sized access equipment and machines for the construction and maintenance industries. With over 25 years in the hire industry, they are proud to provide high-quality elevated work platforms (EWPs), scissor lifts, boom lifts and forklifts across Brisbane and beyond.
- Interpretation of technical drawings and specifications to determine job requirements
- Assemble, install, maintain, and repair mechanical equipment and components
- Perform routine servicing, maintenance, and repairs on EWP equipment
- Ensure all machinery complies with relevant safety and legislative requirements
- Diagnose faults and perform mechanical repairs using appropriate tools and techniques
- Test and tag equipment where required and maintain up-to-date records
- Dismantle and reassemble machinery for maintenance and repair purposes
- Inspect and test equipment (including harnesses) to ensure correct operation and performance, and compliance with regulations
- Conduct scheduled inspections (3, 6, 9, and 12-month intervals) and maintain accurate logbooks
- Monitor equipment availability and report faults or downtime to management
- Replace worn or defective parts and reassemble components
- Liaise with external contractors for specialised repairs when required
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with safety standards and manufacturer specifications
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment
- Follow all workplace health and safety (OH&S) procedures and safe work practices
- Assist with safe loading and unloading of machinery, ensuring correct handling procedures
- Dispose of materials and waste in accordance with environmental and safety guidelines
The Ideal Candidate…
The ideal candidate will have the following attributes & experience:
- Relevant trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter or in a related mechanical field
- At least 2 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance and repairs
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- High attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
- Understanding of workplace health and safety requirements
