The Role
Perched above the Viaduct with some of the best views in the city, Rooftop at QT Auckland is one of New Zealand's most celebrated bar experiences, winning multiple awards for best hotel bar in New Zealand. We're looking for a Food and Beverage Duty Manager to help lead this iconic venue, overseeing day-to-day operations, driving a high-performing team and delivering the kind of fun, fast-paced and genuinely rewarding hospitality that keeps guests coming back. This is a leadership role for someone who thrives under pressure, loves the energy of a buzzing venue and is ready to step up and make their mark on one of Auckland's most iconic rooftops.
This is a permanent full-time role with a minimum guaranteed hours of 30 per week.
Key Responsibilities

Coordinate and oversee the day-to-day running of Rooftop at QT in the absence of the Floor Manager, ensuring all bar, floor and kitchen support functions are adequately staffed, briefed and operating to the highest standard.
Act as the face and ambassador of Rooftop on shift, greeting VIP guests and group bookings with the warmth and professionalism that defines the QT experience.
Drive revenue on every shift, maximising average spend per head, covers and sales opportunities through active promotion of food, beverages, specials and venue features.
Manage the guest complaint process, resolving issues swiftly and professionally, and escalating to the Venue Manager where required.
Oversee stock control, cashiering reconciliation, beverage cost management and shift expenditure controls in line with budgeted targets.
Lead, supervise and develop the F&B team on shift, delivering structured on-the-job training, maintaining grooming and presentation standards and fostering a positive, high-performance team culture.
Maintain the venue duty log, complete shift checklists and uphold all security, WHS and liquor licensing compliance requirements throughout every shift.

What You'll Bring

A current LCQ/Manager's Certificate (Essential)
Proven experience in a F&B supervisory or duty management role within a premium hotel, bar or venue environment. This role requires a relevant diploma or at least three years of equivalent work experience. (Essential)
Strong commercial acumen with a solid understanding of revenue management, beverage cost control and upselling strategies.
A natural leader with the ability to motivate and develop a team in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication skills and the confidence to manage guest feedback, supplier relationships and cross-departmental coordination with ease.
Full flexibility to work a rotating roster including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
