Position Summary
The Lead is a trusted and experienced team member who has demonstrated strong performance, leadership potential, and a commitment to supporting both guests and team members. Leads serve as a resource and role model for their department while helping support daily operations and maintain high standards of performance and service.
Employees considered for a Lead position must first successfully complete the department's Certified Trainer requirements and demonstrate the skills, knowledge, and leadership behaviors necessary to take on additional responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
· Serve as a positive role model and leader for team members.
· Assist with pre-shift standup meetings and help communicate important daily information to team members.
· Assist with training and coaching team members on department procedures, guest service, safety, and company expectations.
· Help Certified Trainers and new team members develop the skills necessary to successfully perform their roles.
· Monitor team member performance and communicate concerns, successes, and opportunities to the Operations Manager.
· Help maintain cleanliness in the park and delegate cleaning tasks to team members as needed.
· Help resolve routine guest and team member questions or concerns and escalate issues when appropriate.
· Assist with opening, closing, cleaning, organization, and general department operations as assigned.
· Support special events, busy periods, and other operational needs as directed by management.
· Work alongside team members and assist with breaks and coverage as needed.
· Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated success and reliability in a team member role.
- Successful completion of required Certified Trainer training.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to coach, train, and positively influence others.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions within the scope of the role.
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude and lead by example.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Obtain Ohio Department of Health Person in Charge or Food Protection Manager certification AND TIPS or ServSafe Alcohol Certification (for ages 21+).
Role Structure
· The Lead role is part of the company's team member development path and is intended to provide employees with an opportunity to take on additional responsibility and develop leadership skills.
· The typical progression is:
· Team Member → Certified Trainer → Lead → Supervisor → Operations Manager
· Team members are considered for the Lead role after successfully completing the required Certified Trainer training and demonstrating strong performance, reliability, and leadership potential. Leads who continue to demonstrate strong leadership and operational skills may be considered for future Supervisor opportunities as positions become available.
