Cafeteria Aide Part-Time (Floater) High School
Description
20 hours/week | Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-1:00 PM
Looking for a school-hours job with a home base and a little variety? Providence Hall Charter School is hiring a part-time food services floater, based at our High School campus in Herriman. When the Elementary or Junior High kitchen is short-staffed, you’ll head over to help. All three campuses are within a quarter mile of each other, so there’s no real commute. You’ll work 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Monday through Friday, for 20 hours a week, with no nights or weekends. The job follows the school calendar, so you’re off for summer and school holidays. No experience needed. We’ll train you.
What to expect
- Shifts are 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Monday through Friday on school days
- You’ll be stationed at the High School most days
- When the Elementary or Junior High needs extra help, you’ll cover there, sometimes on short notice
What you’ll do
- Help prep, portion, and serve breakfast and lunch following the posted menu
- Keep the kitchen and cafeteria clean, including dishes, tables, and floors
- Help students at mealtime and reward good behavior through our positive behavior system
- Help set up and break down the cafeteria tables
- Fill in at the other campuses when needed and learn each kitchen’s setup and routine
- Attend occasional trainings and staff meetings
- Work as part of a friendly kitchen team
What we’re looking for
- High school diploma or GED
- Flexible and easygoing, comfortable working with different teams when you’re asked to cover at another campus
- Reliable, patient, and a good teammate who stays calm when it gets busy
- Able to lift 50 lbs and be on your feet during your shift
- Comfortable in a lively cafeteria with lots of kids
- Food handler’s permit within 2 weeks of hire [we’ll cover the cost / help you get it, if true]
- Pass a background check and reference check
