Forward Deployed Data Engineer (Data Platform & Solutions)
Data Integrations at FloQast
FloQast is building the indispensable home base for the modern accountant: an AI-powered platform where accounting work is connected, automated, and intelligently executed. As we expand our Data Platform and Data Studio capabilities, we are making it faster and easier to connect source systems, model data, and publish trusted information across FloQast applications.
As a Forward Deployed Data Engineer (Data Platform & Solutions), you will own data integrations end to end. You will use FloQast’s Data Platform and Data Studio to connect to source systems, extract data, create mappings, transform it into FloQast-ready models, validate the results, and publish it to FloQast applications. You will work cross-functionally with customers, partners, Implementation, Customer Success, Product, and Engineering to deliver successful launches and durable data solutions. This is a hands-on role for someone who can turn source data, business needs, and platform capabilities into working data flows.
What You'll Do:
Data Integration & Analytics Engineering
- Build End-to-End Flows: Use FloQast’s Data Studio and Data Platform to connect, extract, map, transform, validate, and publish customer data.
- Transform & Model Data: Cleanse, reshape, and normalize structured and semi-structured data (large CSVs, TSVs, Excel) into clean, reusable, application-ready models.
- API & Warehouse Connectivity: Establish robust connections to upstream systems via APIs, sFTP, data sharing, and cloud data warehouses like Snowflake.
- Scale Integration Recipes: Partner directly with core Engineering to design, build, and scale standardized, reusable data integration recipes so new sources can be onboarded more efficiently over time.
- Partner with Customers & Delivery: Work directly with customers, Partners, Implementation, and Customer Success to translate messy real-world financial data into working production flows.
- Triage & Troubleshoot: Rapidly debug production data issues, including schema mismatches, mapping gaps, and data variances, ensuring complete data trust.
- Feedback Loop to Product: Act as a key internal stakeholder. Use your front-line experience to help Product and Engineering improve UI recipes and roadmap future platform features.
What You'll Bring:
- Experience: 3+ years of hands-on experience in Solutions Engineering, Technical Implementation, Analytics Engineering, Data Integration, or a customer-facing Data Engineering role.
- The Data Stack: Advanced SQL proficiency and solid Python/scripting skills for data manipulation and API troubleshooting.
- File & API Fluency: Deep comfort analyzing complex file structures, handling messy/incomplete source data, and building out API-based data connections.
- Spreadsheet Mastery: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data validation and audit matching.
- Execution Mindset: A practical ownership mindset with a bias for action. You thrive in ambiguity and enjoy moving fast without heavy process overhead.
Nice to have:
- Financial Domain Knowledge: Familiarity with financial data models, accounting hierarchies, or hands-on experience with major ERPs/accounting systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Workday, NetSuite, OneStream).
- AI / LLM Exposure: Familiarity or experimentation with LLMs and AI tools for automated data prep, cleansing, or schema mapping.
- Warehouse Experience: Experience working with cloud data warehouses like Snowflake or AWS Redshif
