Forward Deployed Engineer - FinTech (AI) | HKD$50K - HKD$80K
Our client is looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) to join their team. You will be responsible to design, deploy, and iterate on production-grade financial technology solutions. You will bridge product engineering and real-world client needs—translating complex requirements into reliable, secure, and scalable systems that power payments, trading, risk, compliance, or data platforms.
Responsibilities:
Embed with FinTech clients (banks, fintechs, asset managers, payment providers) to understand business processes, technical constraints, and regulatory requirements
Design, implement, and deploy production solutions using our platform and modern engineering practices (APIs, data pipelines, event-driven architectures, cloud infrastructure)
Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and solutions teams to feed customer insights back into the core product roadmap
Own end-to-end delivery: from technical discovery and architecture through implementation, testing, deployment, monitoring, and handoff
Troubleshoot complex production issues in live financial systems, often under time pressure and with strict uptime/compliance requirements
Write clear technical documentation, runbooks, and knowledge-transfer materials for clients and internal teams
Requirements:
Over 3 years of software engineering experience with significant time spent building and operating production systems
Strong proficiency in Python, Go, Java, TypeScript/Node.js, or similar
Demonstrated ability to work directly with non-technical stakeholders and translate business needs into technical solutions
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and infrastructure-as-code practices
Strong debugging, systems-thinking, and ownership mindset—comfortable taking responsibility for outcomes in production environments
Fluent in English and Cantonese
