Forward Deployed Engineer
Summary
Forward Deployed Engineer on an enterprise AI risk and security team: owns customer deployments end to end — technical discovery, Kubernetes/Helm, networking and observability setup — through production handoff, and feeds lessons back into the platform roadmap. On-site in New York or London; $165k–$215k base, no visa sponsorship.
About the Role
Join an enterprise AI risk and security team as a Forward Deployed Engineer, working directly with customers to bring AI systems into production. You will own deployments from technical discovery through production readiness and handoff, while turning lessons from customer environments into improvements that can scale.
What You'll Do
Lead end-to-end customer deployments, from technical discovery and scoping to production readiness and handoff.
Configure and troubleshoot Kubernetes, Helm, infrastructure, networking, identity, observability, and scaling in customer environments.
Develop reusable deployment patterns, tools, and playbooks from recurring customer challenges.
Work with enterprise engineering, security, compliance, and operations stakeholders to resolve deployment blockers.
Share deployment insights with product and engineering teams to help shape the platform roadmap.
For the team-building role, build and lead the forward deployed engineering function as it grows.
What We're Looking For
At least 2 years of hands-on experience in customer-facing engineering, solutions engineering, forward deployed engineering, or technical deployment.
Experience operating production Kubernetes clusters and delivering DevOps deployments, including Helm-based automation.
Working knowledge of agentic workflows and enterprise large language model deployment patterns.
Ability to independently own complex deployments, from discovery through production handoff, with minimal direction.
Clear communication with enterprise infrastructure teams and senior business stakeholders.
For the team-building role, a track record or credible trajectory of building and leading technical teams.
Experience with regulated-industry AI deployments, customer-owned or on-premises infrastructure, networking, observability, production incident response, or AWS, GCP, or Azure is beneficial.
Must be based in or willing to relocate to New York City or London for in-person work. New York-based candidates must be U.S. citizens.
