Founding Engineer Full Stack

Kubcio is building technology to digitise healthcare in India and broaden access to clinical trials. We are developing software that helps doctors manage their practices and identify relevant trials for their patients, connecting everyday care with new research and treatment opportunities.

Were looking for an experienced, hands-on engineer with a proven record of owning production software. You will work directly with the founder, build on an existing codebase and product designs, and take the lead on technical implementation, architecture and delivery.

Your initial focus will be to understand the product and deliver the functionality and reliability needed for launch. You will help set technical priorities and make practical decisions about what to build, improve or simplify.

What you will own

- Development across frontend, backend and database, including integrations with third-party services.
- Translating product requirements into coherent workflows, data models and maintainable software.
- Deployment and operations, including AWS, with responsibility for releases and resolving problems after deployment.
- Security, data integrity and testing throughout development.
- Improvements to how we plan, build and deliver the product.


You will agree priorities and significant trade-offs with the founder, make day-to-day technical decisions, and identify where specialist input or additional support is needed.


What youll bring


- Substantial experience delivering and maintaining production web applications, with responsibility beyond individual assigned tasks.
- Strong practical skills in TypeScript/JavaScript, React, Node.js and PostgreSQL or comparable relational databases.
- Hands-on experience with external integrations and deploying and operating applications on AWS.
- Sound judgment in architecture, complex business logic, application security and reliable releases.
- Ability to understand and improve an existing codebase.
- Business awareness: understanding customer needs and balancing technical quality, delivery speed, cost and customer value.
- Strong practical skills with AI coding tools, using them to accelerate development while independently reviewing, testing and taking responsibility for the resulting code.


Our stack includes React, TypeScript, Vite, Node.js/Express, PostgreSQL and Redis, with AWS Cognito for authentication. Healthcare or sensitive-data experience is useful but not essential.

How you’ll work

You should be able to take an agreed outcome, organise the work and drive it through to completion without close supervision. We expect you to ask focused questions, challenge assumptions constructively, propose improvements and communicate risks early.


This is not a junior or entry-level role. It will not suit someone who needs step-by-step direction, expects only assigned implementation tasks, or wants a primarily managerial position.
