Founding Engineer

Heard (heard.dev) gives AI agents a voice, so people can work alongside them the way they work with a great teammate. We're growing fast, and we're hiring our very first engineer.

The role: Founding Engineer

- Design and build agentic systems: agents that observe, decide what matters, and act

- Bring real AI/ML depth: LLMs, speech, real-time models, evals, the stuff that makes agents actually good

- Architect for scale, from a few hundred power users to millions of agents talking to their humans

- Shape the product and help grow the company, not just the codebase

SF / NYC / Toronto / remote (US and Canada). $100k-140k + 0.5-2% equity.

Requirements

You might be a fit if:

- You've built with LLMs or agents in production, not just demos

- You have an AI/ML background, or you've gone deep enough that it doesn't matter

- You've scaled something real, and have great taste with product

- You want to own outcomes, not tickets
