Frontend Engineer (AI)

Salary: $5,500 – $7,000 per month

About the role

We are looking for an experienced UI/UX Engineer with strong React frontend skills to work directly with business units and design, build, and deploy intuitive applications on our established enterprise GenAI platform.

In this forward-deployed role, you will engage users throughout the delivery lifecycle: observing existing workflows, identifying usability needs, translating findings into prototypes and interaction designs, and implementing production-quality React interfaces for custom AI and workflow solutions.

You will bridge business users, product design, and engineering, making complex AI capabilities understandable, trustworthy, accessible, and easy to use. This role suits a product-minded builder who is comfortable moving between user discovery, interaction design, coded prototypes, frontend engineering, testing, and production support.

Key responsibilities

• Work directly with business users to understand goals, tasks, pain points, operating constraints, and current workflows. Translate findings into personas, journey maps, information architecture, user flows, and clear product requirements.

• Create wireframes, high-fidelity designs, and interactive prototypes using tools such as Figma or coded prototypes. Facilitate usability testing, synthesise feedback, and iterate rapidly before and during implementation.

• Build responsive, maintainable, and production-quality web applications using React, Next.js, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS. Implement reusable components, robust state management, client-side validation, error handling, and automated tests.

• Design interfaces for conversational, generative, and agentic experiences, including streaming responses, tool execution, progress and system status, citations, user confirmation, human review, error recovery, and clear handling of uncertainty.

• Apply and extend reusable design patterns, component libraries, and design tokens. Ensure solutions are consistent, responsive, inclusive, and aligned with applicable accessibility standards.

• Collaborate closely with AI and backend engineers to shape API contracts and integrate frontend applications with authentication, databases, enterprise systems, and platform services. Build lightweight backend functionality when required.

• Optimise usability, responsiveness, rendering performance, and reliability; implement unit, integration, end-to-end, and accessibility testing; and apply secure frontend practices for sensitive data and regulated environments.

• Own frontend delivery through production rollout, documentation, user onboarding, feedback collection, support, and knowledge transfer. Use qualitative and quantitative signals to improve user adoption and task completion.

• Identify recurring user needs and reusable interface patterns, and feed them back into shared components and improvements to the core platform.

About you

• 5+ years of experience in frontend engineering, UX engineering, interaction design with hands-on development, or a comparable product-facing role, with evidence of shipping applications used in production.

• Advanced proficiency in React and modern JavaScript or TypeScript, with strong knowledge of component architecture, state management, responsive design, API integration, performance optimisation, and automated testing.

• Strong foundation in user-centered design, information architecture, interaction design, prototyping, usability testing, visual hierarchy, and accessible design. Proficiency with Figma or equivalent tools is required.

• Demonstrated ability to translate user needs and design concepts into polished, maintainable, production-ready interfaces without relying on a separate handoff for every detail.

• Strong communication, facilitation, and presentation skills, with the ability to work directly with non-technical users, uncover underlying needs, explain design and technical trade-offs, and incorporate feedback constructively.

• Comfortable working with ambiguous requirements, rapidly prototyping, testing with users, and taking ownership from discovery through rollout and continuous improvement.

• Working knowledge of backend APIs, authentication, databases, cloud environments, version control, CI/CD, and secure software development sufficient to deliver integrated applications with engineering partners.
