Technical Lead - Frontend - Remote

We're looking for an experienced Tech Lead to join a growing product-led technology company. This role is a combination of hands-on software development and setting product strategy, allowing you to influence product direction while helping engineers do their best work.

Our client is a New Zealand-based SaaS company that builds tools helping product and design teams understand how people use digital products. Their platform is used by teams globally, ranging from growing businesses through to large enterprise organisations.
Their offices are based in Wellington but are open to remote working for someone based in New Zealand with valid work rights.

What You'll Do

• Lead and mentor a small team of engineers.
• Stay hands-on with coding, architecture, and technical delivery.
• Partner with Product, Design, and leadership to shape roadmaps and engineering strategy.
• Drive quality, scalability, reliability, and operational excellence.
• Explore and implement AI tools to improve developer productivity.

What You'll Bring

• Experience in leading software engineers would be ideal!
• Strong software engineering background with a desire to remain hands-on.
• A product mindset focused on customer and business outcomes.
• Interest in leveraging AI to improve software development.

Tech stack: React, AWS, Infrastructure as Code, and CI/CD technologies. Ruby on Rails is a nice-to-have.
