We're recruiting two experienced Full Stack Developers for an established Wellington-based software company whose platform supports customers across New Zealand and international markets. These positions are suited to established intermediate through senior developers with strong commercial experience across C#/.NET and React. We're looking for developers who can contribute from day one, work independently and take ownership of delivering quality software.
This is a genuinely full-stack position, with approximately 65–70% of the development focused on the back end and 30–35% on the front end. You'll need solid hands-on experience across both, rather than primarily specialising in one area.
The Role
You'll be working within a collaborative Agile development team, contributing to both new functionality and the ongoing improvement of an established software platform.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing, developing and maintaining scalable, secure applications.
- Building back-end services and APIs using C# and .NET.
- Developing user-facing functionality using React and TypeScript.
- Working with SQL databases and cloud-based infrastructure.
- Taking ownership of development tasks from requirements through to testing and delivery.
- Maintaining and improving existing applications alongside developing new features.
- Participating in code reviews, automated testing and continuous improvement.
- Collaborating with Developers, Test Analysts, Product Owners and other technical specialists.
To be considered, you'll need to demonstrate:
- Strong commercial experience developing applications using C# and .NET.
- Regular, hands-on commercial experience with React and TypeScript. Experience limited to occasional front-end changes won't be sufficient.
- Solid SQL development experience.
- Practical AWS experience.
- Genuine full-stack development capability across front-end and back-end technologies.
- Experience writing clean, maintainable code and applying sound software engineering principles.
- Familiarity with automated testing, CI/CD and modern development practices.
- The ability to work independently, solve technical problems and deliver quality solutions without extensive supervision.
- Strong communication skills and experience working collaboratively within a development team.
What You'll Get
You'll join an established software company with a strong engineering culture, where developers are encouraged to contribute ideas, challenge existing approaches and continue developing their technical skills.
The company offers:
- Permanent employment with a competitive salary aligned to experience.
- Hybrid working, with three days in the Wellington office and two days working remotely.
- Exposure to an established international software platform.
- Collaborative development teams and a strong focus on engineering quality.
- Ongoing training and professional development.
- A supportive culture with regular team lunches, company gatherings and social activities.
These are Wellington-based positions, and successful applicants must be able to work from the Wellington office three days per week.
Applicants currently living elsewhere in New Zealand may be considered if they have relevant New Zealand commercial software development experience and can demonstrate a genuine commitment to relocating to Wellington within 4 weeks.
You must already be living in New Zealand and hold unrestricted, full working rights in New Zealand.
Applications from overseas-based candidates, applicants requiring visa sponsorship, or those without the required commercial development experience will not be considered.
If you have strong hands-on C#/.NET and React experience and are looking for an opportunity to contribute to an established software product, we'd welcome your application.
Please note: We are re-advertising this opportunity. If you have previously applied for this role, there is no need to apply again. We have already reviewed your application and considered your suitability. We ask that only new applicants submit an application.
