Full Stack Developer (Laravel / Python)
Peregrine Advisors Benefit Inc. seeks a technically skilled Full Stack Developer to join a high-impact team of Data Scientists, Data Specialists, DevSecOps Engineers, and Developers to deliver on innovative and transformative initiatives. This position focuses on developing modern web applications through PHP/Laravel development, Python scripting, and responsive frontend technologies. Work involves building scalable web applications, creating intuitive user interfaces, developing APIs, and managing web application data processing.
The ideal candidate will build systems that solve critical organizational problems by creating engaging user experiences to drive data use and data-driven insights, implementing robust backend systems, and establishing testing frameworks for web applications. Responsibilities include developing interactive visualizations and dashboards, building content management systems, and optimizing application performance. This position requires a proactive individual capable of intimately understanding client problems, working across the entire web development stack, and driving innovation at the enterprise level through web application development.

Responsibilities
- Build Modern Web Applications: Design and develop full stack web applications using PHP/Laravel framework, creating scalable architectures able to serve large numbers of concurrent users
- Frontend Development: Create responsive and interactive user interfaces using modern JavaScript, CSS frameworks, and popular frontend libraries
- API Development: Build robust RESTful APIs and web services to enable seamless data exchange between applications and third-party integrations
- Database Integration: Design and implement database integrations for web applications, ensuring efficient data storage and retrieval
- Python Automation: Develop Python scripts for data processing, web scraping, APIs, and other automated tasks to enhance application functionality
- AWS Deployment: Deploy and manage web applications in AWS environments using EC2, RDS, S3, and CloudFront for scalable hosting
- Performance Optimization: Analyze and optimize web application performance, implementing caching strategies and efficient loading techniques
- Test Implementation: Create comprehensive test suites including unit tests and integration tests to ensure application quality
What you'll need
Sole United States citizenship and the ability to obtain a Public Trust determination are required for this initial engagement. This is a hybrid role based in the Washington, DC metropolitan area, and it requires commuting into DC regularly. Everything else, the years, the certifications, the specific tools, we ask in the application and get into during the interview.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional full-stack development experience with PHP/Laravel and Python
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
- Expert-level PHP and Laravel: MVC architecture and Eloquent ORM
- HTML5, CSS3, and modern JavaScript (ES6+), with at least one front-end framework (React or Vue.js)
- Python for scripting, automation, and web development (Django or Flask)
- Relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and query optimization for web applications
- AWS deployment experience: EC2, RDS, S3, CloudFront, and Route 53
- Git-based version control and modern tooling (Composer, npm/yarn)
- HTTP, web security principles, API design, and responsive design
- Basic proficiency in writing, PowerPoint, and Excel
Preferred
- Large language model (LLM) API integration (OpenAI, Anthropic) and prompt engineering
- Blockchain and smart-contract integration (Web3)
- A portfolio of shipped full-stack projects
- Federal information technology experience
- Familiarity with AI-assisted developer tooling
