A major Canadian bank is modernizing payment platforms used by thousands of customers, spanning new microservices and legacy applications.
A small, tight-knit team maintains, evolves and modernizes critical payment platforms used by thousands of customers. Two technical realities coexist: building new Python and Java services on AWS, and maintaining legacy Visual Basic and Visual FoxPro applications, with an active migration to the cloud underway.
The role
You develop new features in Python or Java, design reusable APIs, take part in the gradual migration of legacy applications to AWS, and work closely with architects and functional analysts. The role includes real mentoring from senior team members and payment specialists.
What we're looking for
- 4-6 years of experience in Python or Java, object-oriented development, REST APIs
- Relational databases (SQL), Git
- AWS a plus, interest in DevOps and CI/CD
- Curiosity for legacy systems (VB, FoxPro, mainframe) appreciated, even without direct experience
- French required, English not mandatory
Conditions
Montreal, hybrid 2 days/week on-site. Permanent position with Abbeal, 12-month engagement with the client.
