Summary

Senior full-stack engineer at a remote-first U.S. software company building cloud-based products and intelligent workflows for growing businesses. Day to day: build React/Next.js frontends, Node.js/Python backend services and REST/GraphQL APIs, and operate them on AWS/GCP with Docker and CI/CD, including LLM-powered workflows.

Required overlap: At least four working hours with U.S. Eastern or Central Time

ABOUT THE COMPANY

We are a remote-first U.S. software company building cloud-based products and intelligent workflows for growing businesses. Our engineers work in small, cross-functional teams, stay close to customers, and take ownership from product discovery through reliable operation in production.

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer who can turn ambiguous product problems into scalable, maintainable software. You will work across modern web interfaces, APIs, backend services, data, and cloud infrastructure, with meaningful influence over architecture and engineering practice.

This role is a strong fit for an experienced product engineer who combines hands-on delivery with sound judgment: someone who can ship quickly, explain tradeoffs, improve systems over time, and help other engineers do their best work.

CORE STACK

  • React and Next.js
  • Node.js and Python
  • REST and GraphQL
  • AWS or GCP
  • Docker and CI/CD

WHAT YOU WILL OWN

  • Design, build, test, release, and operate production features across the frontend, backend, data layer, and cloud environment.
  • Create clear service boundaries, data models, APIs, and integration patterns that support growth without unnecessary complexity.
  • Build accessible, responsive React and Next.js interfaces with strong performance, reusable components, and thoughtful product behavior.
  • Develop reliable Node.js and Python services, REST or GraphQL APIs, background workflows, and third-party integrations.
  • Help ship LLM-powered workflows and automation with appropriate evaluation, observability, human review, privacy controls, and failure handling.
  • Improve automated testing, CI/CD, monitoring, incident response, security, reliability, and application performance.
  • Modernize legacy components pragmatically while protecting customer experience and delivery momentum.
  • Lead technical discussions, review code and designs, document decisions, mentor engineers, and raise the bar for engineering quality.
  • Partner with Product, Design, Data, and business stakeholders to define scope, surface risks, and deliver customer outcomes.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, including substantial ownership of production systems or major product features.
  • Strong backend engineering skills in Node.js and/or Python, including API design, asynchronous workflows, error handling, and service-level testing.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL or another relational database, including schema design, query performance, migrations, and data integrity.
  • Experience designing and consuming REST APIs; GraphQL experience is valuable.
  • Production experience with AWS or GCP, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Practical command of automated testing, code review, debugging, performance optimization, observability, and secure development practices.
  • Strong product judgment and written communication. You can work independently, make progress through ambiguity, and collaborate effectively in a distributed team.
  • A track record of improving team practices through mentorship, technical leadership, documentation, or thoughtful architectural decisions.

NICE TO HAVE

  • Experience shipping LLM-powered or AI-assisted features in production, including RAG, tool use, evaluation, and guardrails.
  • Experience with Java and Spring Boot or C# and .NET.
  • Experience with Terraform, Kubernetes, Redis, Elasticsearch, Kafka, or event-driven architectures.
  • Experience with B2B SaaS, workflow automation, multi-tenant systems, real-time applications, or regulated customer data.
  • Experience in an early-stage or fast-growing company.

WHAT SENIOR MEANS HERE

You own outcomes, not tickets. You clarify the problem, propose an approach, deliver it, and follow through in production. You balance speed and durability, make the team stronger through design and mentorship, and communicate risks and tradeoffs early.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

In the first 30 days, you understand the product, customers, architecture, delivery process, and highest-leverage technical risks.

Within 90 days, you have shipped a meaningful production feature, contributed to technical direction, and earned trust as a dependable cross-functional partner.

Within 6–12 months, you own a major product or system area, have improved reliability or delivery velocity, and are actively mentoring teammates and shaping engineering standards.

REMOTE WORK EXPECTATIONS

This is a full-time remote role working with a U.S.-based team. You must maintain at least four working hours of overlap with U.S. Eastern or Central Time for planning, collaboration, and customer-facing work. The rest of the day may be flexible. Strong written communication, dependable follow-through, and comfort with asynchronous work are essential.
