Summary

Full stack engineer at UrbView, an AI geospatial SaaS startup in Barcelona, working directly with the CTO to own the React/TypeScript map client, Python/Django GraphQL services, and Stripe billing architecture. The key focus is production-grade SaaS billing (subscriptions, webhooks, dunning) alongside solid PostgreSQL and API work.

About UrbView

UrbView is an AI and geospatial SaaS platform measuring urban safety, accessibility, and gender equity. We turn complex Geo-data into map-based insights for urban planners, transport operators, real estate developers, and municipalities.

The Role

Working directly with our CTO, you will lead product engineering across our full stack. Your scope includes taking full ownership of our React map client, Django/GraphQL services, and commercial billing architecture.

What We’re Looking For

The Key Need: Production Stripe Billing

This is currently the biggest gap on our team. Beyond setting up simple checkout flows, we’re looking for someone who has hands‑on experience navigating the nuances of SaaS billing:

  • Managing subscriptions, proration, downgrades, and trial flow states

  • Handling webhooks reliably (idempotency, out-of-order events, signatures)

  • Managing dunning, failed payments, access permissions, and database sync

Necessary to have:

  • Frontend: 3+ years of production experience with React + TypeScript, with a focus on thoughtful component structure and performance.

  • Backend: Solid Python & Django experience—writing clean ORM queries, managing migrations, and writing meaningful tests.

  • APIs & Databases: Comfort working across GraphQL contracts (or strong REST foundations) and solid PostgreSQL skills beyond basic ORM usage.

  • Workplace Habits: A natural habit for testing, clean Docker/Git workflows, and a curiosity for diving into new codebases.

  • Location: Based in Barcelona with the right to work in Spain (fluent professional English; Spanish or Catalan is a nice bonus).

Nice to have (Pick 2 or 3!):

No one brings everything on this list, and that’s completely expected. If you have a couple of these strengths, we’d love to chat, and we’ll happily support you in learning the rest:

  • Geospatial & Maps: PostGIS, MapLibre/Mapbox GL, GeoPandas, or any background in GIS.

  • Async & Realtime Data: Celery, Redis, WebSockets, or background task processing.

  • Cloud & DevOps: AWS experience (ECS, RDS, Lambda, CDK), CI/CD setups, or monorepo tools (Nx, pnpm).

  • AI & Modern Tooling: Experience with vector search/LLMs or an enthusiasm for using AI coding assistants in your daily workflow.

Is This the Right Fit for You?

  • You’ll love it here if: You enjoy seeing your work reach real users quickly, like having true autonomy over your domain, and enjoy the variety of working across maps, backend systems, and product features in a close-knit startup environment.

  • It might not be the best fit if: You prefer working with heavily structured tickets, large corporate team structures, or fully settled documentation over solving open questions together.
