Full Stack Engineer

Help build and evolve the payment infrastructure behind one of the Netherlands’ most widely used digital applications, serving more than 11 million users.

This is a senior engineering role in an environment where reliability, scalability and security are critical. You will work on systems that process real transactions at high volume, within a regulated banking and payments landscape.

The role

As a Senior Full-Stack Engineer, you take ownership across the full engineering lifecycle, from architecture and solution design through development, deployment and continuous improvement.

You will work across frontend and backend systems, helping shape technical direction while building resilient, cloud-native solutions on AWS. You will also play an important role in raising engineering standards, challenging technical decisions and supporting other engineers in the team.

AI-assisted engineering is already part of the day-to-day way of working. GitHub Copilot and other AI-native development practices are used as standard engineering tools rather than experiments.

What you will do

• Design and build scalable payment solutions and transaction flows.
• Develop and evolve production microservices architectures.
• Build cloud-native services using AWS.
• Work across frontend and backend development using TypeScript, Node.js, React and Java/Spring Boot.
• Design infrastructure using AWS CDK and CloudFormation.
• Work with services such as ECS, Lambda, DynamoDB, SNS and SQS.
• Build and maintain CI/CD workflows through GitHub Actions.
• Use GitHub Copilot and AI-assisted development tools as part of your daily engineering workflow.
• Contribute to architecture, solution design and technical decision-making.
• Improve scalability, resilience, maintainability and engineering quality.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to strong engineering practices across the team.

What you bring

• Senior-level engineering experience within large-scale digital products or platforms.
• Strong experience within payments, banking or fintech.
• Knowledge of areas such as payment processing, transaction flows, PSD2, acquiring, payment gateways or digital wallets.
• Deep experience designing and running microservices architectures in production.
• Strong hands-on AWS experience, ideally including:
• CloudFormation
• ECS
• Lambda
• DynamoDB
• SNS
• SQS
• AWS CDK
• Strong development experience with TypeScript, Node.js, React and Java/Spring Boot.
• Experience with GitHub Actions and modern CI/CD practices.
• Professional experience using GitHub Copilot or comparable AI coding tools.
• Experience with Agentic Engineering, AI-native development or AI-assisted software delivery.
