You will play a key role in modernizing Companies's Eagle Accounting capabilities. You will design and deliver scalable services that support high-volume accounting workflows, real-time and batch data processing, platform resiliency, and integration with enterprise data platforms. This is a hands-on technical leadership role for someone who can balance deep engineering execution with architecture, collaboration, and production ownership.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineering leader who enjoys solving complex platform problems, working across distributed teams, and building reliable systems that support critical financial operations. You should be comfortable moving between architecture discussions, coding, code reviews, production troubleshooting, and stakeholder conversations.

In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:

  • Modernize Eagle Accounting platform capabilities by building scalable services for high-volume accounting and data processing workflows.
  • Build a multi-tenant, cloud-based accounting platform capable of ingesting data in both real-time and batch modes.
  • Design, build, test, deploy, and operate highly scalable API-driven services, primarily using Java, with SQL and NoSQL databases, hosted in Microsoft Azure and on-prem platforms.
  • Evolve legacy platform capabilities into modern cloud-ready and API-first services.
  • Provide technical leadership across design, implementation, testing, deployment, and production support while mentoring engineers and helping the team maintain high standards for quality, resiliency, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Build software with strong attention to reliability, observability, auditability, data quality, and operational controls in a highly regulated financial services environment.
  • Strengthen platform reliability through improved monitoring, observability, resiliency, and production support practices.
  • Work within an Agile delivery model, adhering to team architecture standards and engineering best practices.
  • Lead design discussions and help teams make practical architecture decisions aligned with Company’s long-term engineering strategy.
  • Take true end-to-end ownership of your code from ideation and implementation through production support and optimization.
  • Collaborate with Product Management, UX, clients, operations, architects, and globally distributed engineering teams to translate accounting and data requirements into secure, maintainable technical solutions.
  • Contribute to rapid, high-quality delivery through a mature CI/CD pipeline, automation, reusable patterns, and DevOps ecosystem.
  • Use AI-assisted engineering tools responsibly to accelerate design, coding, testing, documentation, and troubleshooting while maintaining high standards for security, quality, and review.

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience building large-scale distributed software systems.
  • Strong hands‑on experience with Java and API-driven backend services.
  • Experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases and enterprise data platforms.
  • Experience designing, building, testing, deploying, and supporting production‑grade services.
  • Familiarity with cloud or hybrid hosting models, preferably Microsoft Azure and on‑prem platforms.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, automated testing, and modern engineering toolchains.
  • Ability to work effectively with geographically distributed engineering teams.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical decisions, tradeoffs, and risks clearly.
  • Ability to mentor engineers through design reviews, code reviews, delivery planning, and production readiness discussions.

Preferred

  • Experience in financial services, investment accounting, asset servicing, data platforms, or transaction processing systems.
  • Experience with Oracle, Snowflake, or similar enterprise data platforms.
  • Experience with Python, TypeScript/Angular, Kafka, Spark, or other streaming and distributed systems technologies.
  • Experience modernizing legacy platforms into cloud‑ready, API‑first services.
  • Experience using AI‑assisted tools across the software development lifecycle.
  • Experience building or integrating AI‑enabled applications.
