Full Stack Engineer
Summary
Builds interactive 2D/3D geospatial web applications for land development and urban planning at a Singapore AI startup. The engineer works across frontend, backend, spatial databases and cloud infra, centering on Three.js, GIS data workflows and computational geometry with PostgreSQL/PostGIS.
Build interactive 2D and 3D geospatial web applications. Develop map-based interfaces for land, planning and development workflows. Build and optimise Three.js scenes containing terrain, parcels, buildings and planning data. Implement object selection, highlighting, measurement, editing and layer controls. Develop tools for drawing and editing points, lines, polygons, boundaries and building forms. Implement geometry operations such as intersection, clipping, buffering, offsetting, union and subtraction. Develop triangulation, extrusion, mesh generation and spatial-measurement workflows. Process coordinate systems, projections and geospatial transformations. Work with GeoJSON, vector tiles, raster data, shapefiles and 3D geospatial formats. Design spatial APIs, backend services and data-processing pipelines. Build and optimise spatial database queries using PostgreSQL and PostGIS. Integrate external GIS services, planning datasets and mapping APIs. Improve rendering performance for large geospatial and 3D datasets. Develop customer POCs and convert successful prototypes into production features. Work with urban planners, product designers and customers to understand professional workflows. Translate planning and development requirements into reliable technical solutions. Test, deploy, monitor and maintain production systems. Use AI-assisted development tools while remaining responsible for architecture and code quality. Requirements
At least 3 years of relevant software engineering experience. Demonstrated experience building GIS or web-mapping applications. Strong hands-on experience with Three.js. Experience developing interactive 3D scenes for production applications. Strong understanding of 2D and 3D geometry. Experience implementing computational geometry operations. Strong proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript. Experience with React, Next.js or a similar frontend framework. Backend development experience with Python, Node.js or a comparable technology. Experience with PostgreSQL, PostGIS or another spatial database. Understanding of coordinate reference systems, map projections and spatial transformations. Experience designing APIs and deploying cloud-based applications. Ability to independently solve complex technical and geometry-related problems. Strong attention to performance, accuracy and maintainability. Professional-level English. Comfortable working in a fast-moving startup environment. Relevant Technologies Experience with several of the following is preferred: Three.js React and Next.js TypeScript and JavaScript Python or Node.js PostgreSQL and PostGIS Mapbox GL, MapLibre GL, OpenLayers or Leaflet CesiumJS or 3D Tiles Turf.js, JSTS, GEOS, Shapely or similar geometry libraries GeoJSON, vector tiles, raster data and shapefiles WebGL and GPU-based rendering IFC, BIM, CAD or CityGML data Supabase, AWS, Google Cloud or similar infrastructure Preferred Experience
Experience building software for urban planning, architecture, real estate, construction or infrastructure. Experience with parcel, zoning, building-envelope or development-feasibility analysis. Experience with terrain models, point clouds, 3D Tiles or building models. Experience with CAD, BIM, IFC or computational-design workflows. Familiarity with Rhino, Grasshopper, Blender or other 3D modelling tools. Experience optimising rendering and spatial queries for large datasets. Experience integrating LLMs or AI agents into technical products. Academic or professional background in computer science, geomatics, GIS, architecture, urban planning or computational design. A portfolio of relevant GIS and 3D applications. Important Requirement Applicants must have practical project experience in GIS, Three.js and geometry processing. General frontend experience without geospatial or 3D project work will not be sufficient for this role. What Success Looks Like
Complex geospatial datasets render quickly and accurately. Users can analyse and edit land, planning and building information in 2D and 3D. Geometry operations produce reliable and technically correct results. Customer requirements are translated into usable technical workflows. POCs can be developed quickly and converted into maintainable production features. The platform remains reliable as data volume and geometric complexity increase. What We Offer
