Full Stack Javascript Developer
Summary
Senior full-stack JavaScript/TypeScript contractor building enterprise-scale SaaS platforms: React single-page apps on the front end and Node.js/NestJS REST services on Google Cloud on the back end, in an Agile/Scrum team. Hybrid contract (through Dec 2026, likely extended) via staffing firm S.I. Systems for a consumer business client, based Downtown Toronto/Brampton a few days per week.
The ideal candidate is passionate about building efficient, intuitive, and high-quality user interfaces for enterprise-scale SaaS platforms and takes pride in
delivering reliable, maintainable software.
You will work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment using Agile/Scrum methodologies to design, develop, and deliver solutions that support evolving
business and customer needs.
Location: Downtown Toronto / Brampton - 2 to 3 days per week to start for team ramp up;1-2 days per week after that
Start Date: ASAP
End Date: to December 2026, will be renewed until December 2027, or longer
What You'll Do
- Design and build responsive, accessible, and user-friendly web interfaces using modern HTML5 and CSS3
- Develop robust Node.js/NestJS backend services that integrate with Google Cloud and external APIs
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable RESTful APIs and backend integrations
- Write and maintain unit and automated tests to ensure software quality, reliability, and maintainability
- Collaborate within an Agile/Scrum team to deliver solutions that meet evolving business requirements
- Contribute to software architecture, technical design, and UI/UX discussions
- Participate in code reviews and promote engineering best practices
- Troubleshoot, optimize, and continuously improve application performance and reliability
- Stay current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and modern web development practices
- Support a collaborative team culture that encourages learning, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement
Must Haves
- 3+ years developing applications with React
- 3+ years developing applications with Node.js
- Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and API architecture
Nice to Have
- Experience with JIRA and Confluence
- Experience with Terraform
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
