Full Stack Engineer | Vue.js | C# / .NET | AWS | Christchurch

We’re looking for a Full Stack Engineer to join a growing technology team working across modern web applications and cloud-based backend services.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll work across the stack, taking features from initial design through to production. You’ll have ownership of services in production, contribute to technical decisions and work closely with product and design teams to deliver customer-facing functionality.

You’ll be part of a collaborative engineering environment where you can broaden your technical skills, contribute to platform improvements and work with modern development tools and practices.

What you’ll be doing

• Build and ship features across both frontend and backend
• Develop customer-facing web applications and the services behind them
• Design APIs and backend services that support new functionality
• Work with relational databases and SQL
• Take ownership of your services in production
• Contribute to reliability, monitoring and incident response
• Work closely with product and design from initial requirements through to launch
• Contribute to technical and design decisions within your area
• Help modernise existing systems and move functionality onto newer technologies
• Write and maintain automated tests as part of the development process
• Use AI-assisted development tools across coding, testing, refactoring and documentation
• Collaborate with senior engineers and technical leads on larger architectural decisions

What you’ll bring

You’ll have around 3–6 years of experience building and supporting production web applications, with solid experience across both frontend and backend development.

You’ll bring:

• Strong frontend experience with Vue.js, React or a similar framework
• Strong backend experience with C#/.NET preferred
• Experience with another object-oriented language will also be considered
• Solid SQL and relational database fundamentals
• Experience writing and maintaining automated tests
• Hands-on AWS experience in a production environment
• Familiarity with AWS services such as SQS, DynamoDB, S3, ECS and Lambda
• Good computer science fundamentals and a pragmatic approach to system design
• Experience working with APIs and modern web applications
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Experience using AI coding tools such as Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code or similar

Nice to have

• Microservices or service-oriented architecture experience
• CI/CD and modern deployment practices
• Experience with responsive design, accessibility or web performance
• Redis, Memcached or similar caching technologies
• Experience with Postman, Bruno or similar API testing tools
• Experience with Jira and Confluence
• Experience working in a regulated or complex technology environment
