Job Title: Technical Manager Full-Stack Engineering

Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Technical Manager to lead and grow a high-performing software engineering team. In this role, you will bridge the gap between hands-on technical architecture and engineering leadership. You will be responsible for system design, guiding technical strategy, driving engineering best practices, and mentoring a team of developers building scalable, high-throughput applications.

The ideal candidate has a strong engineering foundation as a Full-Stack Developer with deep expertise in JavaScript, React, Java, Spring Boot, PostgreSQL, Docker, and Cloud technologies (AWS preferred).

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & System Design

- Architect, design, and maintain scalable, resilient microservices and full-stack web applications using containerization tools like Docker.
- Drive technical roadmaps, architectural reviews, and technical design discussions for complex systems.
- Ensure code quality, security, performance, and scalability across the stack (frontend, backend, database, and cloud).
- Balance technical debt with product delivery velocity by making sound architectural trade-offs.

Engineering Management & Delivery

- Lead a team of 612 software engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Oversee sprint planning, technical estimation, task prioritization, and deliverable execution in an Agile environment.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, 1-on-1s, and provide active career mentorship to engineers.
- Partner closely with Product Managers, QA, and UI/UX designers to translate business requirements into technical execution plans.

Hands-On Technical Execution

- Participate in high-impact code reviews, technical spike investigations, and critical debugging sessions.
- Establish and champion best practices in CI/CD, containerization (Docker), testing automation (unit, integration, end-to-end), and DevOps pipelines.

Qualifications & Skills

Core Technical Qualifications

- Full-Stack Background: 6+ years of software development experience, having worked extensively across frontend, backend, and cloud architectures.
- Frontend Expertise: Strong mastery of JavaScript (ES6+), React.js, HTML5/CSS3, state management (Redux, Context API), and modern frontend tooling.
- Backend Mastery: Deep proficiency in Java and the Spring Boot framework (Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, Spring Security).
- Database Management: Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL (schema design, query optimization, indexing strategies, and performance tuning).
- Containerization & DevOps: Hands-on experience with Docker, containerization, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Cloud Infrastructure: Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, ECS/EKS, Lambda, CloudWatch).
- System Design: Proven track record in high-level and low-level system design, RESTful API design, microservices architecture, and distributed systems.

Management & Leadership Experience

- 2+ years of experience managing engineering teams or leading technical teams as a Tech Lead / Engineering Manager.
- Demonstrated ability to hire, retain, and develop top-tier engineering talent.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and cross-functional stakeholder management skills.
